I am looking for a site where I can compare the actual rates online i.e. the 1st and 2nd unit prices.

I can't seem to find them and the comparison sites I can find are pretty useless because I don't know what my energy usage will be because I've only been in the flat a month.

I do know that I will have high electricity usage and low gas usage; I have electric heaters(rather than GCH), a gas fire, gas hob, electric oven, electric shower and I haven't worked out how the water heater works yet so I haven't used it.

So essentially I know that I want a low electricity unit rate, in particular the second unit rate. Does anyone know where I can compare these rates.

I'm with Eon at the moment but I'm on the standard tariff. I'm obviously not going to stay on this for long.

£40 pcm should cover them both quite easily if that helps.

Does moneysupermarket.com not let you compare prices

Not really, but cheers anyway :greengrin

Yes and no. It compares your total bill based on your consumption figures. I don't have consumption figures yet so I need to know the rates they use in order to make a worthwhile comparison.

A typical 1 bedroom flat with 2 people sharing estimate isn't much use either because I don't have GCH.

If you have storage heaters the tarriff is normally e7, my last flat was the same and i paid £70 electricity a month and £30 for gas and i was always in credit, another tarriff to consider is e10 which gives you 10hrs of off peak electricity spread throughout the day

Cheers, that's got the rates on it.
