This deal has come up on one of these emails that I get each morning offering deals.

Since I gave up car ownership a wee while ago the City Car Club is something I’ve seen, sort of fancied but never quite got round to doing much about.

Does anyone use it? Would you like to say a wee bit about the positives and drawbacks. It doesn’t say what the hourly/daily hire rate is?

Thanks

Warning: anyone clicking on this link and buying will earn me a wee something at least some of which will make it to a Dnipro box.

I’ve just looked it up. Its £5.20 an hour or £42 a day for the hire (+ 22p a mile).

Who needs a car for an hour or 2 on a regular basis? Naebdy! 3 hours and you might be able to hire a car for the day! Never mind the standard £50 a year.

So seriously what are the advantages over phoning a car hire company, other than Arnold Clark :na na:, and getting a deal with them?

Does seem expensive, i suppose the benefit is that there should be a car near you, hopefully within easy walking distance.

I'm a member.

if you dont live near a car its pretty useless, however if you are near one, and make short trips (under a couple of hours) maybe only once or twice a week it is good value compared to owning a car. I use it to pick up mates or quick trips to places like B&Q out of the city centre.

if you drive any more than a couple of hours a week, and leave your car places instead of driving it straight back to where you started from, it would be very expensive.

I just like having shots in deifferent types of cars too :greengrin
