Anyone know when are the fixtures for the rest of the season getting announced?

Thought they'd maybe be out by now with the split decided yesterday.

No, they're 7 points behind Motherwell with only 2 games to play.

We'll have to wait for the horse trading and the bungs to be completed first.

There is absolutely no reason why the SPL cannot announce the post split fixtures now as we already know who will be playing in which part of the split.

Maybe the SPL computer programmer is on holiday for a week!

Must be at least 10 minutes work for someone to work out some combinations manually, but SPL will probably pay £ thousands for this - gizzajob!

It's a nonsense, the fixtures should have been announced this morning.

They should have been but I would think that the availability of TV coverage will be at the forefront of their deliberations.

It doesn't matter about the fans after all.

Still no announcement, wonder what the hold up is?

The OF already know they're playing each other on Easter weekend, what about the rest of us who need to make arrangements? :dunno:

I was told today that one of the tv slots for the Easter weekend is 12pm on the Friday, seems odd as not everyone gets the public holiday, some fans are going to lose out again if this is true.

I can't understand what the delay is? The top and bottom 6 was decided on Saturday, so how could the fixtures not have been worked out over the weekend and announced on Monday? Mickey Mouse does not even come close to the SPL? Shambles of an organisation...........

:agree: Only last week Neil Doncaster referred to his strategic plan which would put fans first, yet there's no initiative at the SPL to let fans know the remaining fixtures asap, beyond the disgraceful decision to announce one single fixture in advance of all the others. Shambles indeed.

:agree:

In fact it was only the last couple of places to be decided so they could have already had the scenarios worked out already and potentialo tv dates agreed with Sky/ESPN dependant on who got in the top 6.

Mickey Mouse indeed.

I wonder who actually make this up for the SPL anyone know?

I know that a company called Atos Origin do ALL the other fixtures from the premier league right down to the scottish 3rd only the SPL is different ............... strange that eh

Spot on. The SPL announce the date of the Old Firm Derby, but keep the other ten teams in the dark over their remaining fixtures...... And they wonder why teams outside of Glasgow are fed up with their regime, it always has been and always will be catering to every whim of Rantic, and sod the rest............

It doesn't matter about people wanting to know who we play over the Easter weekend. Rangers and Celtic know they are playing against each other and that's all that counts. To hell with the rest of us.

That's the thinking of the people in charge. Has been for as long as I can remember and will be in the future too.

Not surprised they are taking their time as the outcome of this weekends cup semis will come into their thoughts.....

Motherwell (top six) would want Celtic to win the league so if they progress to cup final then cup runners up are guaranteed to get into Europe.

Dundee Utd/Killie would prefer Rangers to win the league meaning 4th place then gets Europe as a result of Celtic qualifying through a potential cup win

Not suggesting for a minute teams may take it easy against one half of the old firm with nowt to play for (on last day of the season?) but these SFA clowns and paranoid weegie jokers will be thinking how can they factor this into their computer

Absolute joke that the ICT game is a Wednesday night. Aberdeen and ICT are the highland teams so would it not make it easier for they to play each other midweek. Absolute bafoons that run this game.

There is a full SPL fixture list on that Tuesday/Wednesday midweek so someone's got to play Inverness that night.

It's not ideal that it's Hibs but I don't think Aberdeen fans are that much more suited to going to Inverness that night than Hibs fans are. It's well over 100 miles from Aberdeen to Inverness and it takes between 2.5-3 hours to make that journey. It's only about 40 miles more to go to Inverness from Edinburgh.

Aberdeen's not in the Highlands either, by the way.

Is the correct answer. :agree:

As Falkirk says, there's a full card in the SPL that night. Either Inverness travel to the central belt (or Aberdeen) or someone has to go up there.

Aberdeen to Inverness isn't just along the road!!

Inverness are in the SPL on merit, regardless of their geography. It's little wonder the players never get a result up there if this is the fan's reaction to having to go.

It's the players jobs and when they have to travel back at 10pm at night they don't necessairly have to get up first thing next morning to get to work, or indeed take time off to get up there on time in the first place.

I think all we are saying is it's a pity as a few more would have gone up on a Saturday or Sunday and some would have made a weekend of it.

They didn't actually have to schedule anything for the midweek card in Invernesss though!

All true, and I agree it's a pity. Having decided on a midweek card though, somebody was going to have to travel.

Inverness fans don't anyway so could hav had them away somewhere. Cost the town a few quid probably.
