Who has what on?? I know absolutely hee haw about the Horses, so will be putting £2.50 e/w on What a Friend, and the same on Hello Bud, purely cos they've got names I like!!
Btw, this is me being an eejit, but what does "each way" actually mean in black and white? Does it mean I put £2.50 on to win, but if that horse comes in the top 3, then I get a return on that same £2.50, just at ****ter odds, or would a £2.50 e/w bet actually cost me £5??

I'm going £5 e/w on In Compliance at 50s, really good price for a decent horse that has a shout of being placed.
Also £5 e/w on Big Fella Thanks at 16s, 4th last year and 4th at Newbury recently.
I'll probaby also stick a couple of pound on a 100/1 shot.

Big Fella and Hello Bud. They should finish anyway.

I got Big Fella Thanks in my sweep at work, pretty happy with that. Probably stick a bit of cash on it tomorrow as well.

£42.50 worth of bets (all from winnings after Villareal pumped Twente on Thursday)
I've had the winner the last two years and had at least one horse placed, making a decent profit on the national by using this method. Going for a Hattrick. National is so hard to call but surely taking 1/5 of the field will get me somewhere ;-)

I'm not a betting man but I normally have a wee bet on the Grand National. I know there are some sites where you can get a free bet. Think I did this once before and won but IIRC I didn't get back as much as I thought I would due to the stake money being "free"
Can anybody clear this up for me and at the same time give me the winner.
Cheers.

Too late for any tips but that is generally what happens with free bets. You don't get your stake back e.g. If you place £10 @ evens in a normal bet you would get £20 back, most free bets would only give you £10 back(i.e. your winnings) and would keep your stake. Therefore, imo it's worth being a little bit more speculative with free bets.
I normally have my selection then another one which I think will win but I will lay the final selection as well to guarentee a win. (Lay essentially means backing something not to happen but please ignore this last sentence if it confuses you, which it probably will).
As for the national, I had £2 ew on The Midnight Club 10/1 and £1 ew Comply or Die. I got £7 back because VC were paying 1st 6. I spent my profits on a pasta sauce for tonights dinner :greengrin

In the end (10 minutes before the National started) I registered with bet365 and hurriedly stuck 2x£5 bets on. Stuck the money on the nose but none of them came in. I'll probably stick the free £10 on Hibs next week. :aok:

You may only get a £5 free bet, it depends on the terms of the site.
Good luck either way.

Got credited £10 free bet but some condition saying can't withdraw until I have £60. So I'll just keep betting on teams with short odds for the next 10 years. :aok:
