I live in my dads council house just now, yesterday turned the boiler on took a shower and all the power went out. This morning, getting ready for work jump in the shower after turning on the boiler, electricity all goes out. I put 2 and 2 together looked at the boiler and saw there was water leaking out the bottom.

So as it's a council house I phone up the repairs number at 9:15 this morning and tell them what's happening, they agree that it's pretty serious and mark it as an emergency call, they tell me someone will come out sometime before 17:00 tommorrow.

Needless to say no-one came today (the girl on the phone said it might not be today but they probably would because it's an electricity fault). Wasted days holiday from work then.

I turned off the boiler this morning, so it's either no hot water/heating in the flat or just turn it on and let it short out the circuit board. What could happen other than it turning everything off?

Turn off the breaker the shower is connected to, it should be marked. If you've got a new-ish board the RCD will be tripping too so you'll need a sparky out to fix it.

Don't attempt to fix it if you're no sure what you're doing mate!
