Liam Craig is ****. McBride and Rankin are better players than him. Also not sure about the Hasselbaink lad but Davidson/Conway/Rooney would be three really good signings.

We need a decent striker to come in, Rooney would be good. A right back has to be a priority as well.

I would not mind seeing us go for Calum Davenport. Currently at Wooten Blue Cross after being released by West Ham after him getting into a bit of bother. If he can prove his fitness why not :dunno: played at a good level not so long ago but I also read that Leeds are keeping tabs on him. He might be a cheap option and he might want a change. In a perfect world, would love to see young Kenny McLean from St Mirren and Jamie Murphy from Well. I think both would require fees, but for me, as well as finding some out of contract players, we need to invest in good, promising Scottish talent.....the next stepping stone.

McLean has one of the sweetest left foots on a midfielder I have seen since the great Davie Cooper. He is a wonderful talent but I think under a long term contract at the buddies. Murphy has grown this season into a real, real talent. Again, Well would rightfully want a good fee.

Both would enhance the team and give it pace and energy.

Can i remind fans we are looking to improve on our worst season for 7 years.

The above mentioned players fall firmly in the 'dross' category and should only ever be seen at easter road when they are getting their ass kicked as a visiting team!
in recent years we have brought in players of the ilk of Brown, stokes, millar, we should aim higher than the crap people are hoping to sign. We brought deeks back from celtic and murray from norwich. It is not unreallistic to think we can raise the bar higher than ***** players from st mirren and kilmarnock and lower leagues of scottish football.

KEVIN PHILLIPS, who will immediately score a hattrick against the diet huns, during an 8-0 demolition derby.:not worth
KEVIN DAVIES, who will score three of the other five in the same derby.

I hope we can sign Towell on a permanent contract or at least secure him for all of next season. I'd also like us to re-sign Dickoh, Stevenson & Miller.

I would like us to offer terms to Adam Rooney, if he really has the potential to play at a higher level then Hibs have proven to be a good club for rising stars.

I'd also like us to make a move for Chris Maguire of Aberdeen who is also out of contract in the summer.

We need an experienced centre half that can help bring on Hanlon and Stephens yet be satisfied with probably not playing every week so an older player that can maybe do some coaching too.

Sixtwo, I would suggest that you take time to watch McLean and then report back to me as to how good he could become. The fact he plays for St Mirren means nothing.......he gets his game there, he is only 19, playing for Scotland at his age group and St Mirren rightly had him signing an extension last year due to his potential.

Don't believe me.......ask various SFA, OF and English based scouts. I am sure once you have watched the lad you will have a very different opinion.

Had you heard of Ivan Sproule and Institute, or Dean Shiels, or David Murphy before they came to Hibernian ?

Not wishing an argument mate, but you are basing an opinion of a young under 19 player on one performance against the defending SPL champions ?

I have luckily had the chance to watch him more than once, and also discussed him with both SFA and Hearts coaches. Each one is of the same opinion........a very gifted young player with a great attitude to the game and one who has bags of potential. He came on against Aberdeen in the cup and showed in 30 minutes what a magnificent touch and vision he has.

We released Leigh Griffiths......would you take him back on loan from Wolves ? We offered Riordan and Whitty to Inverness for Bobby Mann.......players get released, however the fact he was released from Rangers says it all. And I am pretty sure he was only 16 at the time too.

Like I say, I think he would be an absolute gem for Hibs.

Fair play bud.

I do think we need a natural left sided player to compliment Booth, but also think we need some pace in the wide right area.

My summer wish-list would be centre half, left midfielder, penalty box striker, right winger and real "box to box" midfielder to assist Scott. We need pace in the midfield and front areas.

Quite excited to see what CC and DA bring in though.....definite reasons to be cheerful.

We have to trust the management team. They had the vision to see where we were struggling and they have applies a few patches to repair the side. I think if they have a decent budget (taking into consideration the number of exits we'll see) i think they will bring in 5 or 6 quality players. hopefully g o'c will be the first.

They deserve to backed in the transfer market because they have proven they have an eye for a player. Our record since the end of january is testament to that.

Cant believe people are saying Higdon and Sutton as personally think both are poor. I am pretty sure that CC will be able to come up with someone better from lower leagues down south than these guys.

Always thought Jamie Murphy is a very good player though would think we wouldnt be able to afford as no doubt he will be on a contract. Kind of a fitter more hard working Deek without the amazing finishes but longer term a better investment.

The most exciting thing about this close season is that every other year the budget will restrict how many new players we see coming in - whilst there will obviously still be a budget to adhere to, the shear number of players leaving means that we will see several new arrivals in the summer, which is great.

I reckon this summer will see the most new signings since the close season that McLeish brought in Laursen, O'Neil, Agathe, Fenwick et al - hopefully with similar results.

At the same time CC has already stated that he wants to cut the size of the 1st team squad to roughly 20 players. Quality not quantity seems to be his aim.

I'd like to see us sign The Lad. He's had a tough few seasons but always gives 100 per cent, that's why the boo-boys should get off his back. I'd rather have someone who gives their all for the cause like him, rather than overpaid poseurs not fit to lace his boots. Yes, he might have made a fool of himself in George Street that night but he thrives on responsibility and if Calderwood would just sit him down and give him a good talking to, the arm around the shoulder, or maybe the boot up the arse, I'm sure he'd respond cause the one thing you can say about him is that he's a total pro who always gives 100 per cent, that's why the boo-boys should...

Nutshell. Our 6-8,000 crowds post six split will become the norm under Calderwood's crappy football next season. We are the new Motherwell FC who don't finish in the top six.

And what if they are? The ones who dont go will be doubtless the ones bleating that that it isnt good enough and "I won't be back until we invest in the team" posturing without realising the irony of their stance.

As long as we refresh the squad, sweep out the last remnants of the sad disaster that was Yogi I'll be happy that we'll have a team worth watching.

I wouldn't have argued if you'd called him a decent or a good SPL player, but a great one....nah. He seems to have had a fairly average season compared to last.

I wouldn't be excited by him signing for us anyway, wouldn't be a bad signing but I'm hoping for better.

Towell (on loan)
Leigh Griffiths (on loan)
Thomas Cerny
Kevin McDonald, Burnley, if possible
Adam Rooney
Sone Aluko
Liam Miller to stay

That, with a big CB, would give me real hope for the season ahead.

A team of:

- A strong partnership up front with proven SPL goals
