Can someone please confirm the section that is classified as the "singing section/12th Man"? I'm looking to book three tickets for the derby in this area.

I've just been on the online ticketmaster website, and have worked out our sales to date (see below):

Tickets sold: 11730
Tickets available: 3401
(this does not include tickets in the exec areas - capacity for these areas is 908

So by my calculations the home end capacity at Easter Road is 16,039. I guess the away stand has a capacity off about 4000?

If your ticket sales are right we could be on course for our first 20k plus crowd for many a year. With just over 3000 left people better get a move on

The club also keep tickets for people who phone up or go directly to the TO.

Section 43 area mate.

Is the singing section.

12th man is the East, FF and West.

Just thought I'd clarify that.

Simple mathematics :greengrin

The Online booking system tells you how many seats are in each section and how many are available.

Three less in section 43 as just got my tickets - bring them on!!

The club also keep tickets for people who phone up or go directly to the TO.

It's all on the one database - they just print your ticket at the ticket office.

So no reason why they don't use the same real-time system.

Actually I've purchased a ticket, in person from the TO in the past, and they have been able to search all areas for availability. So it has to be the same sytem they use.

Unfortunately I just can't see us shifting anything like 3,000 unsold tickets for the Derby.

Always a shame to have so many empty seats at a Derby.

Can't see the attendance topping 18,000.

Ill hazard a guess and plump for 15 K.

This derby will be nowhere near a sellout. And those that think it will are kidding themselves, If i wanted ( i havent tho ) I could get a ticket the day before if i really wanted to.

Prove me wrong Hibs. But this Derby has 14/15 K written all over it.

A Jambo supporting frie... errr, aquaintance of mine said that they had sold out their end as another of his mates couldnt get a ticket.

With it more than likely going to be the last derby of the season and the fact we've hit a bit of form I wouldnt bet against there being a crowd of 18k or 19k. There's also not been a game at ER for ages, once the international break is over and the hype starts getting whipped up in the papers then I think there could be a fair number of tickets sold next week.

I would agree with that, hasnt been a game to go to in ages and most Hibbies will I'd imagine want to be at this game given our current form.

For anybody with a bit of time on their hands.

Last night I went on to the ticket site and added up all fifty areas (obviously including hospitality) and came up with a capacity of 19700+, a full 500 short of stated capacity of 20250. Howzat?

I added up the amount of tickets sold in the 48 sections for sale (ie excluding sections 49 and 50 which are hospitality) and it only came to 14,500 not the 15500 others were claiming. I assumed total sell out for away end which I believe it is.

Yeah they do seem to get a bee in their bunnet about crowds etc, but they seem to be a bit quiet about the fact that their future leagure winning side had a massive 12,000 at their last home game.

I even had a yam saying to me that their avg last season was 17,000:faf:
I had to point out to him that on average, the yams had 3,000 empty seats EVERY home game last season, yep, big team indeed

West Stand 5693 including hospitality (Something not right there)
FF Stand 3758
East Stand 6332
South Stand 3932
TOTAL 19715

Had a bit more time on my hands and calculated seats sold according to TM excluding and including the executive seats which are 913 in the West Stand and 250 in the FF Stand. I've assumed for the timebeing the the Yams have sold all their seats.

West Stand 3432
FF Stand 2558
East Stand 4754
South Stand 3932
TOTAL SEATS SOLD 14676 Excluding executive seats.

The directors box and the press areas aren't included in the totals in the seating plan.

Stand capacity is, to the nearest 50, something like this -

West 6,350
East 6,400
FF 3,750
Away 3,900

Total = 20,400!

Agree. Anything over 17K is excellent given the season we've had. New Year derby 2012 will be the first competitive full house at the completed ER I'd hope.

There were 3876 seats available at 3pm on Friday 25 March. There are now 3710 seats available. Under 200 seats sold in 2+ days but hopefully next week TicketMaster and the ticket office will do a roaring trade. I am assuming that the big team have sold out their allocation. Executive seats in the west stand and famous five (which total approx 1000) are showing as being unavailable but there's obviously no guarantee that they will have bums on them so to speak.

It has the opposite written all over it surely:
weve not played for ages surely people are desperate to see us in action again
weve taken 16 points from 18
an we need a win for the top 6 plus hearts have had a good season to date their end will be close to capacity, for me its an 18k plus crowd (although i feel we should be selling out)

To get that by my maths we would have to shift 1600+ tickets in 6 days which i cant see.. it would be nice if the empty seats are dotted around rather than large chunks as it makes it feel fuller.. but as long as theres a good atmosphere and the hibees win i couldnt give a toss if there 20,000 or 200 people there!:flag:

A crowd of 18,000+ looks on the cards.

Hope so but not confident.

Ticketmaster only show 18,552 tickets as being available. The remaining 1,698 seats must be made up as executive or freebies. There are 913 exec seats in the West Stand and 250 exec seats in the FF. There is a grey area on the seating plan in the West Stand so maybe that's where the remaining 535 seats are. Hopefully I'm making sense.

So by my reckoning, and assuming that Hearts have sold out their end, there are only definitely 14,906 seats sold. If all the seats (plus the freebies) which are showing as being unavailable are also sold then the figure rises to 16,604.

I would say at this point that the attendance will be somewhere in the region of 17,000 but who knows.

Bored in college so thought id do the running totals!

Without the executive seats there are

available : 18807
sold : 15186
available : 3621

Including the executive seats :

available : 19715 (500 seats missing for some reason.. id say about 1-200 in west lower god knows where the rest are!)
sold : 16094
available : 3621

on course for a 16500+ crowd.. with maybe a late flurry making that total 17k+

81.6% of tickets sold gives you a better indication..

By saying that 81.6% of tickets sold would mean that there is in excess of 16,500+ seats sold when in fact nobody outside of Hibs or TM knows how many of the unavailable seats (and the missing mystery seats) have been snapped up.

Anyway I take it you won't be at the match as you'll be working that day to pay off your student loan. :greengrin

I've obviously got too much spare time at the moment.

Makes you wonder whether to believe the sales for the Hearts game when TM are showing 6 sections out of 9 in the East Stand as being full and only 802 seats available in that stand for the Accies game.

So in total i make the attendance currently at 16,388.

If it reaches the 17,500 mark i think that will be good enough.

Nah, don't know about you but hearts fans I know always go on about us building a stadium that we'll never fill. If we only see a couple hundred more than previous sell out total then that will continue and would equal a fairly poor show.

Could well be the last derby of the season + pay day.

Surely a "couple of hundred more than previous sell out total" is an improvement?

If we were getting 17k-17,300 vs them before stand was built and now getting 17500 vs them x2 and rangers this season then thats more money straight away? yes it cost to build the stand but the benefits in the longer term are there for all to see:agree:

I'm pretty sure the board would agree. Hopeful that there will be a last min surge. 19k ish would be fantastic.

Whats the recent record for a derby in the league. Would be great to beat that if we haven't already with the game earlier in the season

East 82%

So if its going up by about 2% a day and I'd expect this to rise Fri/Sat by around another 5% each day as a lot of people will be waiting on pay cant get down to ticket office.

It looks to me that the gate might be around 17,500 which is slightly down on the game earlier in the season.

We seem to be selling at the moment around 200 tickets a day and we have sold around 11,600 tickets to date to Hibs fans. When you add on corporate sales, plus Jambos and allowing for a bit of a late rush 17,500 looks on the cards.

Is that good or bad? Normally the gate is down for the second derby of the season and I would imagine the average gate for the two Hearts home games is the biggest we will have had for the last ten years at least.

So it vindicates the decision to build the new stand which gives the Board more opportunities to increase the fan base.

Now we just have to beat them!

I think it'll more or less sell out. It'll do far more than 17 tickets an hour come Friday and Saturday.

They'll give the official attendance at somewhere between 18,537 and 19,461 and everybody will ask 'where was extra space - it looked sold out to me?'

The answer will be in the hospitality section and the odd solo seats. Maybe a few in the very far rows of the West to avoid the smell of Yam wafting over.

There's less than 70 tickets left in the central sections of the East and West put together.

It means whatever the final attendance the yams will be outnumbered by at least three to one - and that can only be a good thing.

Should be guaranteed 17,000 now, but maybe paydays could mean we could get over 18,000 in the next 3 days

Callum,

Ive just calculated whats left and I agree with 3115.

However if you add up the tickets sold I get 15437.

I have not included any from sections 5, 49 or 50 (total 1163) as I don't think they were ever available to purchase online. There is no way these three sections are sold out.

If I was to add the 1163 on to 15437 the sold tickets would be 16600.

If I had to predict an attendance I would go for 17000.

Oops, I forgot section 50 was hospitality, why section 5?

I took 3115 from 20250 = 17135

If we take the 909 hospitality from that, takes us to 16226, but would it be fair to say we'll have at least half the hospitality area full?

Yeah, I would go with half full. Not sure about section 5 to be honest.

Another thing I cannot fathom is that you have obviously done the same as me to arrive at the 3115 unsold figure. However if you add up the capacity of all areas it only comes to 19715, not 20250.

Do the disabled fans get counted, because I have disabled ST and go through the disabled door in the East and have never had my card swiped! If all disabled fans and carers in all 4 stands are the same then the official attendance could be out by a couple of hundred if not more.

This is something I've always wondered myself.

A bit like yourself, I think I've had my card swiped twice since they introduced the season cards, as opposed to the season tickets and one of those occasions was at the end of last season against Rangers because Hibs were worried about Rangers fans sitting in the home end for their title celebrations.

Quite often the steward at the wheelchair gate doesn't even bother to check my card, I just hold it up and he tells me to go in.

Earlier in the season, the head of our queue was having difficulty having his card swiped. Obviously seeing I was getting distressed standing so long, the marshall called us over, checked our tickets and let the 4 of us through the wheelchair gate. Would we have been included in the attendance figures?

There must be a fair amount of complimentary tickets set aside for each game that aren't made available for sale.
Players/staff comps in addition to those for other clubs sending representatives. I'd imagine that accounts for some of the discrepancy between west capacity and the number of seats there available online.

Do ex hibs players have the benefit?....of getting in for nowt also?

3014 tickets left now.

This means that essentially we are now into our new capacity and if we hadn't built the new stand the 'Sold Out' signs would have been up already...shows the interest in this game as there has been few occasions I can remember in recent times where the game was sold out 3/4 days before.

Hopefully we can shift a few of the 3,000 left...at effectively £30 a pop that would be a nice extra windfall that simply wouldn't have been a possibility if it wasn't for the new East.

FWIW here's what I make of it.

Excluding hospitality and "missing seats" Ticketmaster show 18,552 seats as being available for sale prior to tickets being sold. Hospitality/missing seats = 1,698. This makes a total of 20,250 seats - the capacity of Easter Road.

On the assumptions that Hearts have sold out their allocation and we have sold 50% of hospitality/missing seats (which on Ticketmaster are showing as not being available or not accounted for) here's a breakdown of seats sold.

West Stand
Capacity 6228
Sold 4298
Available 1930
% of seats sold 69%

Famous Five Stand
Capacity 3758
Sold 2756
Available 1002
% of seats sold 73%

East Stand
Capacity 6332
Sold 5392
Available 940
% of seats sold 85%

South Stand
Capacity 3932
Sold 3932
Available 0
% of seats sold 100%

Combined Totals
Capacity 20250

OK someone's going to have to explain something to me here. Most of the posts on here seem to be implying that there will only be at most a couple of thousand empty seats, with some predicting a sell out, have these people looked on the online ticket page?

For those who haven't, it says that of the 45 blocks in the home end, 7 have 0% availabity, with a few more having 1 or 2% availability. The rest seem to have plenty of seats, you've got blocks with 86 and 88% availabity. How can it be close to a sell out when you can see for yourselves how many seats there are in about half the blocks?

Looks right now like we're looking at about 16 or 16.5k.

my reckoning is there are just under 17,000 tickets sold for the game - Hibs fans, hospitality and Jambos. There seemed to be quite an upsurge in tickets sold today - looks like over 500 were sold.

So if Hibs allows sales Friday,Saturday and Sunday and they publicise the fact then I think the gate, assuming it includes non attending season ticket holders is likely to be over 18,000 which would be the biggest gate at Easter Road this season. This woulsd also be the biggest gate at easter road for a number of years.

OK but my point is how do you know there are less than 3k left? Either that statistic is wrong or the online booking page is, you don't have to sit their counting each seat to see there is more than 3k empty seats according to that.

You add all the tickets available and that tells you what has not sold --- simples!

% available per section is misleading as the sections are varied in size. To say sections have 70% available is true but these have low seat capacity (200 or thereabouts). However the areas with 900 or so seats are nearly full (for example :greengrin).

Why are you assuming that a far lower proportion of corporate etc seats are sold than ordinary ones? I can't see why they wouldn't mirror the proportion sold of the other seats, which would mean around 75% of the corporates would be sold - adding another 300 odd to the gate.

Ah but, who can tell if all the season ticket holders are going to turn up? That could nacker all the calculations so far!:na na::cgwa

Think I read earlier in the thread that Hibs now count all season ticket holders as attended whether or not they actually do. Makes sense really as the seat is already paid for and unless season ticket holder passes it onto someone else to use then the seat will never be occupied.

That's good news.

I decided to wait until Sunday and buy my two tickets when I get there. May have to pop down later today if sales go through the roof. :greengrin

The Box Office is currently experiencing high demand. You are in a queue.

Please do not navigate away from this page, or you may lose your position in the queue.
Below is an estimate of how long you will have to wait before you are admitted.

From 9am. Gaurentee though that everyone will walk around to the windows at 12 o'clock expecting to be served immediately and there will be a thread on Hibs net within a hour about the 'Shambles collecting tickets'

That's due to everyone on Hibs.net going on the site to check how many seats are left. :greengrin

Well there's always tomorrow I suppose.

There won't be many Mackays there my laddies are in Turkey

It's the start of the Perth Easter holidays - any other areas off on holibobs?

Falkirk schools break up tomorrow afternoon for two weeks.

Seats available right now;

East Stand-828
Famous Five Stand-875
West Stand-1208

Total-2911

I certainly think we're looking at a crowd of well over 17,000.

I know it's not the topic of the thread, but I find it a bit strange that the schools Easter Holidays in Perth and Falkirk are going to be finished before Easter. :greengrin

Edinburgh schools don't break up till next week.

Isn't today also the deadline for the free cup top up offer. Seems daft to have it the day before the Derby Weekend.

It was always going to be a busier day today, with it being a lot of people paydays. 18,000 should be more than achievable now. would be great to have a full eas stand :agree:

And I assume all corporate seats will be sold out. Probably last derby of season.
I think 18,500.

I agree I think all corporate seats will be sold out, or very close to it.

I think your thunk of 18,500 and raise you another 500 :greengrin

Looking online at the seating chart still seems quite a few gaps at the side of the East / FF and West.

Good to see the majority of the East fill up though - think there could be a great atmosphere in there on Sunday :agree:

Still time for tickets to be sold - would be great if it was the highest crowd of the season :top marks

Edinburgh schools don't break up till next week.

The Falkirk schools are off from Monday 4th April-Friday 15th April for the Easter Holidays, they're back for 4 days before going on holiday again for Good Friday (22nd April) and Easter Monday (25th April).

They're then back for 3 days before going on holiday for Prince William's wedding ( Friday 29th April) and they're off on the Monday as well (2nd May) as it's the May Bank Holiday.

Think I'll apply to be a teacher! :agree:

But that's a totally different argument! :greengrin

East - 669/6332 = 89.4% sold out

Blocks 40 to 43 are completely sold out, with only 19 seats left in block 44.

Block 45, closest to the south, has 209 left, but they will start to get eaten into very quickly I'd have thought.

I'm not sure whether Hibs quote the attendance based on tickets issued or bums on seats these days. I'm estimating that:

- tickets issued will be between 17,100 and 18,200
- bums on seats will be between 16,300 and 17,300.

Do you copy?
