I'm not sure whether Hibs quote the attendance based on tickets issued or bums on seats these days. I'm estimating that:

- tickets issued will be between 17,100 and 18,200
- bums on seats will be between 16,300 and 17,300.

Do you copy?

I normally just call them Yams.

Over 20,000 now yet not a single mention of what attendance figure would make us bigger than the yams. Even for a week, to introduce a minuscule ripple of doubt into their 'class is temporary, size is permanent' mantra.

I make it:

West: 78% full
FF: 80% full
East: 83% full
South: 100% full

Overall, an average of 85% full, giving the current sales at 17,300. Hopefully that can get up to 18k by Sunday.

Quite encouraging to see ticket sales steadily increasing for this.

Still can't help wondering why and what happened to the 20k-29k attendances in the 1980s for derbies. Swaying about on the terraces in those days were some of my happiest. Still I suppose it is swings and round-a-bouts in the end as I remember the games against the lesser sides rarely attracting crowds over 7k or 8k. Apologies for the tangent!

18807 tickets available on ticketmaster (including away end which is sold out).

18807 - 2609 = 16198 sold.

Add on hospitality (sections 49 and 50) which could be from 0 to 908.

Then there is the mystery of the missing seats, 19715 if you add up all the areas yet the capacity is 20250. A difference of 535.

So if we take my figure of 16198 and add on 908 and 535 we arrive at your figure of 17641.

Its not quite as simple as taking tickets left away from capacity unfortunately.

2 points - from above..thats seats sold and not attendance...like me there will be many ST's not there that don't take kids to OF / Hearts games so thats 2 ST's 'sold' but not in attendance

The reason for that is; section 49 , the West Stand Hospitality only shows 649 seats available. That is because companies have block booked up the other 500 or so over the full season meaning they are never available.

The total hospitality seats in section 49 is actually 1000 or so.

Anyone know if Hibs are not letting any fans in the 'bottom' tier of the East? Can't buy a ticket for the bottom 4 rows in any sections that are left, and from what I can recall, I can't remember seeing any seats in the 1st 4/5 rows for sale at all last week.

Could mess up the numbers here, recount and rethink required perhaps?

Still a cracking thread though :agree: :aok:

I am trying to buy tickets online but am unsure about Ticketmaster's seating plan for the East. The way they have set it out shows row A at the back of the stand, it would appear, with row JJ at the front. Is this correct? I realise this question has likely been asked umpteen times and apologise for asking again!

JJ is the back row and is at the bottom of the page.

As Antifa Hibs has pointed out earlier you can't seem to buy tickets online for the front rows.

Go on to the section you want and put your cursor over a green dot, that will tell you the exact seat number you are about to purchase.

Hope this helps.

Don't see the fact he wants to change seats being a problem.

Not sure however how close to the singing section he will get as that area of the stadium is sold out.

At Hearts games in the east when I was there nobody really paid much attention to seat numbers. Not sure about now though.

i'm just back from buying my ticket at the ticket office...the situation at the moment is pretty fluid....there were some old guys getting their season tickets renewed, a guy buying a ticket for his laddie who has just started going to the games but isn't on the data base(they let him have one)...a guy with tattoos on his legs got one and and a guy going prematurely bald got one....on the staffing front, the australian lassie with the pin above her lip was working hard but the overweight lassie with tattoos on her neck was drinking a cup of tea and sitting at her desk...there were a few others answering calls but they seemed to have the situation under control and the 'sell out' signs were lying in the corner gathering dust....upon leaving the office i was passed by a junkie with a dog on a string...it was not clear as i drove off if the junkie was intending to buy a ticket or not so it would be premature to count him in....he's probably not on the data base in any case....over and out

Nope, its because they are having a good season. Well clear of us in the league. Should manage 3rd this year. Have a good record against us recently. We have had a poor season. Etc.

If the roles were reversed they would be lucky to sell half they're allocation & they would hide that embarrassment behind some flimsy boycott or something estually pathetic...

To be fair to them they have actually staged a number of sustained boycots ove the years:

1. Good looks
2. Intelligence
3. Common sense
4. Humour
5. Standards of dress
6. Testicles
7. Non-asbestos building materials
8. Prudent financial management

etc etc.

Feel free to add.

Don't look at it in terms of the stadium capacity. Consider it to be the best home support for many years in terms of numbers attending. Considering the dreadful season we've had, the early sunday kick off and it's live on TV, I'd say it looks like being a very decent turnout.

Yours faithfully

I agree, it shouldn't matter if its on TV or its a Sunday or its an early kick off. I know some people wont be able to go because of a few reasons but I also know that there will be people who CAN go but just choose to watch the game on TV.

If we want Hibs to progress and become bigger and better than we are then we need fans to be getting their ***** to the games and buying tickets - and merchandise and the rest and putting money into the club, its the only way were going to do it.

There should be no excuses for not being able to find 16,500 (or whatever the exact number of tickets on sale for Hibs fans is...) for a game against Hearts.

We have the potential as a club to at least be the best of the rest, its about time we started trying to push on instead of accepting mediocrity, and thats from the board through manager, players and fans.

I would love nothing more than to be in a packed out ER every other week, especially when we are going to get tore into these Hearts *******s tomorrow:thumbsup:

Not surprised really. A few weeks ago, we were in a relegation battle.

It has been a long long time since I left ER thinking "that was a fantastic performance" playing a team off the park. If the product on the park is consistantly good, then the fans will return.

After we won the League Cup, I don't remember selling out the Hibs stands and that was even with a lower capacity. So well done all supporters who have bought tickets.

Tomorrow might be the start of a new beginning!

2375 seats available.

West 1105
FF 784
East 486

At the start of the day there was 2609 available so only 234 sold today. Hopefully we can shift some more tomorrow but I still can't see the attendance being more that 17,000. If it is then probably only by a hundred or so.

Two of us are buying our tickets tomorrow. May decide to sit in the West as the view from there will be much better than the view from the East. :greengrin

Over and out.

Well if your totals are correct that leaves us with well over 17k tickets sold.. nearing on 18k.. and i doubt 1000 people with tickets wont show up.. its a derby so most season ticket holders wont want to miss it.. and its a bit of a waste of money if you buy a ticket for the game and don't go.. my prediction will be 17,897:flag::flag:

If it had been pre-new East Stand then I would have had tickets by now but can't see any problem turning up at Easter Road in the morning and getting them then. There was no way it was going to be anywhere near a sell out so I am relaxed.

There was somewhere near 1300 hospitality/corporate seats showing as not available prior to the sale of tickets. Adding that figure to the seats available for sale still only brought the total number of seats to 500 short of the capacity of Easter Road. I very much doubt that all the 1800 seats (1300 plus 500) will be sold but hope that I will be proved wrong.

it was 900 corporate seats plus the 500 missing bud..

as someone stated if the corporates were far from sold out considering the money clubs make Hibs would have been advertising the balls off trying to sell as many as possible.. its been quiet hence im assuming its been well sold.. so even then thats 1400 tickets say we sold 1000-1200 of them leaves an extra 2-400 unsold tickets added to the 2375 makes about 2500 left..

minus that from 20250 and we have 17,750.. maybe im an optimist but i predict at least 17,500 today!:greengrin:greengrin

When I bought my ticket I selected to pick it up today, but Hibs mailed it to me anyway. I took this as a sign that they are expecting a lot of walk ups today and want to keep the numbers who are queuing down.

Impressed with that all things considered.

You have to laugh at the Yam support for singing "What a ****ty home support". Their tiny wee hovel they call a football stadium couldn't hold that many and IIRC it was only a few weeks ago that they could only manage 12,700 at the pink palace against St Mirren. That despite being 3rd in the league and having 400,00 supporters.

Open spaces aye, but we are not going to conjure 20 k up overnight. The previous attendances are being beaten. In a poor season.

Great crowd for what has been our worst season since we went down in 97/98 in my opinion. Role on the 20,000 sell out for the 2012 New Years Day (hopefully) game :flag:

I think many of the 400,000 boycott matches against St Mirren because of some perceived injustice towards the end of last century. Anyone know the details?

Over and out.

Excellent crowd in an awful season and would have been a sell out in the old East. Pretty encouraging given the current economic climate also.

Only 207 short of 18,000. Imagine the crowd if we had only been a couple of points behind or in front of them.

Strange them signing about a crowd which is bigger than any they have achieved at home. Have we beaten their top attendance figure a couple of times this year?

Our average is about 2,000 below them. Bearing in mind the different levels of success we have had recently and the cheapness of much of their season tickets it's not bad going.
