He's 41, been retired a year and was 2nd choice for much of his last season there before.

If this happens it surely must just be as cover for Almunia until one of the other 3 is fit.

Thing is prettyboy, if he has kept himself fit he will undoubtedly still be decent cover.

Remember Hibs fans thoughts when we signed a 35 year old Jim Leighton who was turning into a wee bit of a journeyman when Sir Alex sent him here there and everywhere. Played with us, form returned and he got back into the Scotland team.

The keeping position is one where age doesn't count against you as much IMHO. The likes of Zoff, Budgie and others prove that.

Really can't see Dirk Lehmann scoring many in the Premiership. You could say he was in his 'prime' when he played up here ten years ago and he wasn't renowned as a prolific goalscorer. He'll struggle down there.

I don't doubt he would be decent cover for a short while, especialy given the difficulties in getting in a good keeper on an emergency loan deal.

If i was an Arsenal fan though i wouldn't be hugely confident if he had to play regularly. Towards the end of his career Lehmann was something of a bombscare, capable of quality saves one minute then a crazy rush of blood to the head or an inexplicable mistake the next.

Might not be a bad guy to have about the place though especially considering that with Szcezny, Mannone and Fabianski Arsenal have 3 young and inexperienced keepers.
