Just left one of the grimmest pubs in the town - Andersons - after watching the Barca game elsewhere, a drunk Jambo in a suit still managed to lower the tone by singing about gassing Jews and stamping on fenians heads! I dont fall into either category, but, the elmer was well out of order! Pity he had 4 mates in tow.

Lothian Road Jaikie Magnet :agree:
Love the web review
'Only a brief ten minutes’ stroll from Princes Street, along Lothian Road, sits Andersons – perhaps one of the most charmless bars in town'
'When you think about the clientele of Andersons you could do worse than picture the denizens of the cantina in Star Wars'

Those reviews aint wrong, when you are feeling hacked off its a great place to go to realise things could be much worse!

My wife used to work nearby and I wouldn't let her get the bus from the stop outside there because of the amount of dodgy folk having a fag outside who ended up fighting half them time.

Yes sorry about that. The wife gets a little loud after a couple of lambruscos!

Lothian Road seems to have got seedier and seedier over the years.

Shakespeare's in Lothian Road is very nice.
Friendly bar staff, decent cheap food and beer and TV screens everywhere. Big place with plenty of seats.

Andersons was a Celtic boozer. You would never have got away with that a couple years ago.
