Does anyone have suggestions on what to put on my feet to toughen up the skin?

I've always had soft skin that peels away easily.

Walnut oil. You can buy it from Valvona & Crolla at the top of the walk :agree:

You can get a 38ml size for a couple of quid last time I was in there.

Aye but that's only a ten where he lives :greengrin

A bottle for each foot will do. It's fairly concentrated :agree:

Although walnuts are well known for there skin-toughening properties, I believe walnut oil is not concentrated enough to toughen up the skin.

If you want a quick result, bu some walnuts, doesn't have to be posh ones from Valvona & Crolla, Tescos will do, pop 2 or 3 in each of your socks so that they are between the sole of each foot and the bottom of your shoe and just go out for a 30 minute walk each day.

Simples.

My dad used to have to wear heavy work boots and was on his feet all day. Lack of air and sweat made the skin peel on his feet. He soaked them in a vinegar and water mix every night to kill bacteria and toughen the skin.

Have any of you personally tried any of these?

I thought the tuf foot was a joke to start with. I'm still not quite sure if it's real!

Start playing the guitar with your feet, should take around 3 weeks, if they start bleeding you're not practicing enough, or too much.

Walk around outside barefoot, a concrete massage will soon toughen you up ya big jessie. :greengrin

Ronseal. It'll give your soles a nice healthy tanned look, (without the harmful UV rays) as well.

The balls and toes tear up every time I play so it's a pain. They should have toughend up after 15 years of football!

I'll trade you my feet. I'm having to use my missus' ped-egg twice a week such is the thickness of the skin on my feet.

You could maybe try surgical spirits. When I did ballet that's what we were told to put on our toes to toughen the skin for pointe work. Did work a bit, though I didn't use it much myself.

Someone mentioned surgical spirits on here on another thread but I couldn't remember what was said. I might try that.

My dads pal swears by this in the build up to his regular week long treks. Personally i just put zinc oxide tape directly onto any area of skin that gets affected, not toughening up the skin of course but avoids any problems.

Surgical spirit definitely works.

I used to use it before i started my hill running when i was training before a boxing match to prevent blisters. I still use it now before i go away walking or running.

Just pour some onto some cotton wool and spread it evenly and thinly over you feet, once or twice a day.
