I'm fed up with all these threads feigning shock, horror and disgust everytime an opposition fan/player/manager does or says something even slightly out of line or naughty.
We should leave these Pecksniffian comments to others.
We're Hibs. We're above that sort of behaviour.

:tsk tsk: There can be no good reason, ever, for failing to indulge in a bit of OFGTF-bashing. I don't feel in the least bit like a Pecksniff for doing so.

Actually, I'm not so sure we are - above that sort of thing, I mean.
ALL of us, that is.... :tin hat:

It's usually the irony of them which gets me.
People lambast them for being bigoted yet call them all the hun c***s under the sun.
They complain about all of us being "tarred with the same brush" by the BBC, but in the next section will label all Rangers/Celtic fans as "vermin", "bigots", "s**m" or "trolls".

There's 'slightly out of line' and then there is disgusting and wildly anti-social behaviour. Though hypocrisy is the football fans' stock in trade I can honestly say that I've never been tempted to throw a tramp in a fountain, or send live ammunition to another team's manager, or beat my girlfriend if my team/s lose a derby, etc. and I'm not sure I've met another Hibby or Mag who thinks any of the above are reasonable ways to carry on.
At the moment, especially, I think every non-old firm fan is wholly entitled to feel nauseous. All teams have supporters who are dicks but the old firm seem to attract an unsavoury element which is disproportionate in size to their respective followings and deserve to be called out for it more than ever before.
We are Hibs, we are above that sort of behaviour - but not above being horrified by it. I mean, look at the managers FFS. Very surprised you think we should let this go. I'm an Englishman, and I was embarrassed by Wednesday night's goings-on.

I am sure that there are plenty of Celtic and Rangers fans who don't think any of those are acceptable either. In fact, I know plenty that wouldn't.
By the same token, I'm sure there are non-OF (and even Hibs) fans that have done some of these or worse.

I'm sure there are. I can't argue with that. My point (as you well know) is that the old firm is a magnet for ****bags, disproportionate to their following in numerical terms. They seem to revel in it, they seem to enjoy it, they seem to celebrate it; their nastiness, that is.
I've seen, and been embarrassed by Hibs/NUFC fans' behaviour many times, but I'm stuggling to remember Wille McFaul/Ossie Ardiles/Kevin Keegan/Kenny Dalglish/Ruud Gullit/Bobby Robson/Graeme Souness/Glenn Roeder/Sam Allardyce/Kevin Keegan/Joe Kinnear/Chris Hughton/Alan Pardew either:
1) Being sent bullets in the post, or:
2) Squaring up to an opposing manager
These clubs are ****ing ****, they attract ****ing ****.
That's all there is.

Good argument.
I'm not Jewish so I shouldn't really bother that 6million were gassed/tortured to death in the Nazi death camps.
Neither am I gay, so nail-bombing gay bars isn't a concern. Serves you right for being gay, you total bender!

I am glad to hear that. It's seriously habit forming, one tramp is never enough. I lost my family, my home and all my possesions thorugh my addiction. It ended up with myself getting thrown in to a fountain. Just say no kids. :agree:

Ah, my apologies. I hadn't realised you were the hibs.net literary critic.
Have you been criticising people's posts for a while now or is this a new venture?
Either way, you've taken on a busy, yet important, job so good luck with it.

If Hibs.net posters aren't receiving secret information from 'sources', they're placing stories in the tabloid press. In addition, I was once mentioned (indirectly) on Radio Forth because I caused a one mile traffic jam in Tranent.
We are an awesome bunch, us Hibees.
