Thanks, that's a cool website.

So, he's still got a long way to go. Could still make it into the top ten, if he hangs around long enough.

He's scored a 102 goals for Hibs, so only 12 'til he's in the top 10. Not too shabby.

Jeez the famous 5 scored over a 1000 between them. That's unbelievable, I had never toted them up before. Just one of them would do us now eh !

....or Joe Baker. Considering the short time he was at Hibs, his scoring record is amazing.

I suppose if he was at Hibs now as a 17 year old, he wouldn't be staying very long.

I could have sworn Reilly was our top goalscorer of all time.

Seems I'm wrong. FM says Smith scored 364 league goals. Where's Richey White!? It's FM09 btw.

The goals scored during war time often cause confusion so that might be the reason. I think you're right with Smith's total but I don't know Reilly's.

The strip along the top of .net says 114 for Baker? Is there confusion here as well due to war time goals?

Those stats came from the records on the old official site (both spells added together).

Edit - iHibs states he scores 114 league goals + 44 in cup/other matches.

Where is Deek on the list? Right up there with the likes of Baker and Gordon Smith having banged in over 100 goals for Hibernian.

My favourite player ever.

I suppose the answer is it depends on what you think should be included. First off, the 364 figure quoted for Gordon smith includes friendlies and to my knowledge no one has ever compiled a comprehensive list of friendly scorers of all time so it's hard to compare with say Reilly whose total listed above only includes major competitive goals. I'm working through friendlies to compile a definitive list but it will take some time.

War time goals are contentious but I think you have to include them to get a true picture of someones career.

I hadn't realised Arthur Duncan was in the top ten. I remember him scoring a few but didn't think he was anywhere near that.

Which era did McColl and Cuthbertson come from?

Also, hadn't realised that Duncan had scored so many goals. How many years was he at Hibs?

Arthur is the appearance record holder. Considering how long he was here, it's no surprise he's scored so many.

1969 - 1984

446 Appearances.

Oh aye, and a winning cup final goal (for the wrong side http://www.hibs.net/images/smilies/boo%20hoo.gif )

How do they all compare in goals to games ratios would be interesting. Nish for example is an SPL top scorer just by hanging around long enough.

Fixed that for you.
