Is their any excuse? My friends have a black lab and brown tabby who are eating themselves to death, but they can't refuse them food. This is just animal cruelty in the same way having obese children is a firm of child abuse.

The fat ******* pets have got no willpower. You can't blame the owners.

Pet insurance shouldn't cover obesity related illnesses either, it pushes up the price of a pet I might buy in future.

I'm the proud owner of an obese cat. :hilarious

Seriously though, she was perfectly normal until she had kittens. Then after that apparently her organs got a bit 'mixed up' and she had to be operated on. Since then she's always been a bit beefy.

Surely there's some sort of treatment program they could be offered? Hypnotherapy? Acupuncture? Gastric bands?

It depends if the fat cat encrouches on my seat. If I'm wedged in my seat because of some lard ass cat I wouldn't be happy.
