No SPL rules do not allow players to play as trialists

Its not even been confirmed that we've signed him! All we have the now is a 'sky sports understands'. He's still a trialist and thereafter won't be on the pitch or the bench. He'll be watching in the west though. I really hope he signs, he's got quality about him.

Unless he's signed he won't be in the squad at all, personally I don't see why SFL teams can play trialists yet SPL teams can't!

It'd open up all kinds of loopholes for people to sign as 'trialists'. Rantic would probably sign Péle.

Didn't Tango man play someone as a triallist with the sheep a few years ago?

Hearts did it with Andy Thorn in 1996. Brought him in on loan for a week but, ostensibly, for a League Cup game against Celtic which HMFC won.

IIRC Thorn had been released by previous club and FJK signed him on a short term deal. Wasn't that before the SPL as well?
