And they only paid £200k - they would probably want more than that to sell Towell. Mind you, he would be worth it.

Towell could become the new Snoddy.

Celtic consider Towell to be a midfielder, not a full-back, so not sure how much impact this signing will have on that situation.

On a side note, from what I have seen of Matthews he looks like a cracking player.

It would seem so:

Towell is definitely better than anyone else we have at RB. Is he out of contract with Celtc at the end of the season? I'd be happy if we signed him up.

Towell is one of thirteen midfielders at Parkhead and I think he'll be low down in the pecking order. A permanent move away from Celtic would probably suit his career. It would depend on Lennon's plans for the guy and whether they will be looking for a substantial price for him. I would hope that a good Dublin lad would think twice about joining the junior Huns.

Like what Ive seen of Towell - seems a steady player, and lots more years to come in him! but the other OPs right, Celtic see him as a midfielder, so just have to wait and see, if he's surplus to their requirements!

I would guess being a professional footballer, he wouldnt think twice about joining which ever team paid him the most.

As soap and water are already surplus to requirements at Parkhead, it makes it difficult to see where Towell would fit in.

If we get Towell cut price it would make up SLIGHTLY for us giving them Stokes so cheaply.

I hope we do manage to keep Towell as he is a really good player. If Towell has any brains then he knows that he is hardly going to get a game at smeltic whether that being in DEF or MID as Lennon will just go out and sign a player if he is very short on cover in those area's. If Towell has some ambition to play at the highest level then he should sign for Hibs and have 2-3 good season's with us and soon enough he will start to attract attention from the Championship or even the EPL.
