Not seen it covered elsewhere but watching SSN and as Higdon smashes his shot in it hits one of the many divots in the ground and bounces over the dive of the goalkeeper:greengrin

There own fault for their shoddy pitch.. What they deserve

Goal of the season, goal of the century, goal of the millennium.... the greatest goal ever.

God bless Motherwell's potato field. At least it made me happy. :hyper:

It's not the same cabbage patch as last season though.

There was an entire new pitch laid during the close season but it seems as though exactly the same problems are still being encountered.

And dare I mention it - our pitch is looking a wee bit shabby right now but at least the mud seems to be reasonably level.

Totally agree. Last season referees were passing it as fit for play when it had two inches of sand on wide areas in the corners. They should have been fined, and told that until they sorted out the pitch properly, they could sign no players.

They had to play their European tie at New Broomfield. The pitch there isn't the best, but it IS playable and nowhere near as bad as Fir Park. That tells you that foreign officials weren't likely to pass the pitch, and that Motherwell knew it.

It's just that usually the shoddy state of the "turf" at FP tells against the visiting tea, that's all.

If you haven't read the thread it's "Dickoh cements place in St Mirren history with goal". Great banter.

They can't do much with the pitch as there is an inherent problem with drainage in that area. Would cost them millions to sort it out. They'd probably be cheaper moving out to a new stadium but nobody wants to buy that ****hole.
