I stood in a few 4-5k crowds back then. I remember a very low crowd against Motherwell one midweek night - around 4k.

it wasn't too long after that he was played against us (The mighty Meadow Star) for a Saturday amateur side at cavalry park - i remember he played with adidas predators on !

I thought the first live game was a gubbing from the other lot on the 2nd January 1991. It may have been BSB it was on rather than Sky. Not even gonna mention the score!

Shows the standard of the league back then:confused:

i don't remember him at all. Crazy that the time difference between his last 2 games. Was similar for Tam McManus' first 2 games for Hibs. Last game of each 1st div season and then last game of first season back up (at Tynie. Cameron booted him into stands).

Good shout MB. BSB had indeed broadcast live before then but April 20th was Sky's first live transmission.

You're not missing much. He used to be a winger/forward for us.

I played against him a few years back at amateur level where he played sweeper. He obviously felt he was going to be some creative continental version but unfortunately for him he was a slow as a week in the jail and he kept getting caught on the ball. No surprise that the 2 goals we scored that day were both down him confusing himsel wi Franz Beckenbauer:top marks

Impressed with the iHibs site - obviously a lot of work gone into it:

Some random observations

Gordon Hunter - dropped early on by Jim Duffy but came back for one final swansong when he was sent off in the relegation playoff vs Airdrie. Sad way for a stalwart to finish up.

Mark McGraw - maybe had talent but hate to think what the modern day Hibs fan would make of his record - 3 goals in 5 years!!

We used to hold onto "promising younsgters" far longer than neccessary - the likes of McGraw (5 seasons in the first team), Graeme Love (6 seasons), Michael Renwick (6 seasons), Graham Donald (7 seasons), Chris Reid (first appearance 1989 last appearance 1998!) seemed to be on the fringes forever. Nowadays they would have been punted long ago due to finances. I suppose the modern day equivalents are Stevenson & McCann but both of these two have achieved much more.
