I hate to be a doom and gloom merchant, but I can't be the only one who is dissapointed with the attendance today?

I think it was a good attendance but I don't know what you were expecting.

I don't think ICT contributed much so we were looking at 13,500 Hibbies.

Of the 13,500 most would be season ticket holders with the rest probably freebies due to Green Day. I don't think many would pay at the gate.

From an East Lothian Hibs point of view it was excellent, normally we have about 45 on a 49 seat bus but today we had about 60 on a 70 seater. A lot of people were happy with our bus and the game so for me it was win / win.

Hibs might get more fans in on a regular basis and we might get more on our bus.

The atmosphere was superb today. Hopefully we can keep the run going and have a 20,000 crowd for the derby.

I think today was a great improvement but with every ST holder getting a free ticket and the odd punter walking up to the gates, I was hoping for a crowd bigger than the 15,000 mark.

Aberdeen - Hertz. Live on telly but with Hertz third in the league and winning a lot more that they draw or lose versus a Dons side on a good run and having won 5-0 last week, you would have thought there would have been a good attendance. No!

Att: 9,100

Everybody is struggling to get the fans through the door. So to get 13.8k against ICT when we are third bottom is pretty good IMO, probably 3k above the expected given our current league position. So I think that Green Day has been a success all round.

Put today's attendance into perspective. Today was ICT's 27th fixture this season. Apart from near 44k and 42k attendances at Rangers and 35k against Celtic, today was the next highest attendance watching a ICT game followed by almost 13k against Hertz and almost 12k the last time we played them.

Onwards and upwards........

I suppose if we knew how many season ticket holders we have it would help us decide if it was a good crowd or not.

That's not all

I/We (my peeps..interneter? (sp) know loads of young people who just do not use the internet anf if they are out of town don't buy the EEN. Some are mobile savvy though.

I think this has been a good marketing exercise for Hibs (and us netters), that no matter what you do, outside the OF, we are struggling to get our voice heard outside the local media and websites :agree:

This is in no way dissappointing as I now think we have maybe 50% of season ticket holders who are "active" on the net and the the rest are not or can't afford to be on here right now. :agree:

If we take approx 9,000 ST holders and 50% nominated a person that would give us 13,500 and then maybe 1000 walk-ups, and the 200 or so opposition so 14.700-ish that's not far off the mark :agree:

Just shows the internet is not as powerful as it seems in reality :agree:

Should have done my calculations before I guessed :greengrin

Is it just me, or didn't the crowd seem bigger than 13,500?

I thought there was 15,000+ today.
