All Scots who are turning 40 will be invited for a cyber health check as part of a new service from NHS 24.

About 74,000 people across Scotland will be asked to self-assess their health online or over the phone.

The Life Begins at 40 service is part of a £15m package to help people over 40 check on their health.

Self-attention to health, particularly amongst Scottish males, can never be a waste of money. I would be happier with a campaign to encourage people to pay more attention than they already do... at any age... but this is a good start.

Health campaigns are almost never a waste of money...im sure there will be plenty of ideologues arguing against it though.

I suspect that the majority who self assess will be those who are health conscious anyway-so I think the money could be better targetted.
