Hello! I was in Seattle recently, same weekend as the Seahawks playoff game.
We noticed an enormous flag flying from the top of the 605 ft. Seattle Space Needle. The flag was in the Seahawks colours with huge number 12.
Didn't know the significance until we went into the Seahawks Fan Shop. There were rows of team shirts with the number 12 on them, along with the name ---- FAN.
The Seahawks do not give any players the number 12, but have kept it for the 12th man, the fan!!.
I think this is a great idea: maybe our team could give it some consideration.

Good idea and, IMHO, Hibs should be building on the success of the 12th Man with this sort of stuff. Whilst, I wouldn't want them to take it over, they could definitely use it to their advantage in terms of publicity, fan engagement and so on.

The Club and the Hibs 12th Man are working together to do exactly this.

The #12 has been kept back by the club and will officially be handed over to the fans when the time is right.

The group taking forward the Hibs 12th Man is aiming to improve the matchday experience for the support, the Singing Section is this most obvious part of what has been partly achieved so far - it will get even better!

The ultimate aim is for the Hibs support to be recognised as the best in Scotland, probably the best in the UK and the friendliest when the Club take us into Europe.

Very smart, very classy and inclusive indeed. This seems like fan consideration and marketing meeting perfectly. I hope this idea finds it's way to the Hibs decision makers and given some consideration. Whilst a great idea, they would have to be convinced of it's commercialism. But that's what a marketing teams bread and butter is, uncovering new revenue streams by finding an affinity, imagination and desire with their customer.

Didn't Bertie Vogts want to give the Tartan Army a squad number in a bit of a desperate 'love me' gesture?

Handled well, this could be a goer.

Big shock in that game :agree:

i think the club should market it like

YOU
12

on the back of a hibs shirt, and give deals with the new kit launch like buy a ST you get money off the new shirt with your name and the number 12 on the back...or something like that

Hi i,m new to here so here goes.I live in the Seattle area. They have the 12th man every home game. Normaly an x-player hoists the flag before each game. I am also a season ticket holder to the Seattle Sounders. They have microphones and a core of fans who start the chants every game. They get the full stadium. (40000) singing seattle at one end of the stadium and sounders in the other three stands. It is amazing how loud it gets. They sing what they call the full 90. Every other team has said how deafing it is and how hostile it is. It would be great if you guys could start some thing like that. It really comes threw when listening to hibs tv. It reminds me of the old days when Easter road was always very loud and hostile to the oposition.:cgwa
