Had a chance to take stock and let the dust settle after the transfer window closed and - after feeling a bit underwhelmed initially - I can't help but feel (or hope) there's a bit of deja-vu going on...
When Mowbray joined and he brought in a number of younger players to start with (likes of Dean Shiels, Chris Hogg, Sam Morrow etc) there was the same kinda mixed response/element of the unknown when signings were announced. All in all, the "kids" brought in generally did a good job in most instances.
Not been Calderwood's biggest fan so far, based on squad selection, tactics at times and inability to defend any set piece after nearly 4 months in charge, but now is the chance to see whether his wheeling and dealing skills are up to scratch and he knows how to spot a player..young and hungry with ability to strengthen our starting XI and potential to develop further sounds good to me in retrospect (my pint glass is clearly half full tonight...ever the optimist!)
