Marvelously dark and demented. Portman should get the Oscar.

Quite right, a brilliant performance from Natalie Portman.

I was a bit dubious for the first 20 or 30 minutes, but once I got used to how over-the-top it was, I absolutely loved it. An exhilarating film.

Thought it was gripping. I've not seen any Aranofsky since "Requiem for a Dream" which was similarly intense although ultimately more unsettling. Also thought there were shades of '90s/noughties Japanese horror in "Black Swan".

Saying all that it was an easy sell - I have an abiding fondness for Swan Lake and who doesn't like Natalie Portman? :greengrin
