Andy Carroll possible £35m move from Newcastle to Liverpool. £30m offer has been rejected so I would expect it to be increased to £35m. If I was Mike Ashley I would drive him to Liverpool's training ground.

Not saying that he's not a decent player but a few months in the EPL and one full cap behind him. Crazy money should the deal go through. Say what you want but he is still largely unproven at top level.

With you on this one, the money down in England has gone crazy.

35 million would just about wipe out the debt of most SPL clubs.

SSN reporter David Craig suggesting that Carroll is driving to the North West to be nearer Liverpool. His move will probably depend on whether Torres gets in that helicopter to London.

What an embarrassment it would be if he hears on the radio that the Torres deal is off just as he see the road signs for Liverpool. :na na:

Torres at £50 million - :faf:

You could argue he has got worse..

He's certainly done nothing to add £30 million to his value. Won nothing, scoring very infrequently, constant discussion of his "declining" form all over the park and an absolutely abysmal World Cup.

£23 million more than David Villa - absolutely incomprehensible...

Some folk are already making comparisions between the Liverpool partnerships of Keegan-Toshack and possible partnership of Saurez-Carroll.

No way Hosay.

Liverpool my English team so I'm delighted football wise if he signed but way way overpriced. if this was July they'd have got him for 20m. Also I'd ****ing drive Torres to London masel for 50m.

SSN reporting that second bid (apparently from Liverpool) has been rejected.

Ashley must be holding out for that magic £40m.

Could be £40million for a guy who is one step away from being electronically tagged?? Madness!

One more violent outburst from the guy and he'll be in a jail cell and that cash will disappear into thin air. Not worth it as a player, nor the risk as a person IMHO.

If Carroll goes then regardless of price it makes Pardew look a bit daft given his insistence that whatever else happened in the window that Carroll would stay

Equally so will KD at Liverpool if Torres goes to Chelsea.

Premiership survival is worth upwards of £50m to Newcastle, Carrol could be the difference between survival or relegation, so Liverpool will have to adequately compensate Newcastle for this possibility.

They are mad to be even considering paying that much though!

But not that far above the relegation places either. Selling their top scorer and having to rely on Ameobi and Best for the rest of the season for goals is certainly going to impact on their results.

I know what you're saying but £40m for Carroll. There's no way that Liverpool would consider Carroll as a replacement for Torres or spend that kind of money if they had more time to get a proven goalscorer in.

Mike Ashley must think that he's won the lottery, gone to heaven and back, won the FA Cup and woke up in bed with a couple of tidy burds.

Could football be any more removed now from the fans in the stands? It's sickening amounts of money. Give £50m to Cancer Research and see what they can do with it.

I love football, but I hate it at times too.

Although as a fan i want Carroll to stay at Newcastle, Ashley etc but be laughing his head off at getting £35 million + add ons.

Thats more than David Villa for christ sake!!

Instead of spending it on a decent replacement he will no doubt blow the lot on the roulette wheel tonight

What I dont get is, why the hell (if it is Dalglish that wants him) are the Liverpool board sanctioning such a hugely inflated fee on the say so of a manager that probably wont be there next season, what if a new manager comes in and says WTF he's sheite I'm not playing him

English Fitba is truly truly mental, we should offer them Nish for a bargain £20m :faf:

Mental for a guy that has only scored 14 goals this season and 32 in his whole career! Not to mention his current injury was caused when he fell off a chair drunk in the local casino during a busy time in the Newcastle season!!

I bet Newcastle see little of that money an Ashley claws back some of the money he has ploughed into Newcastle!

Some of the money will be spent on paying off Alan Pardew's 5 year contract when the Toon get relegated.

Well....it might just get the hertz out of the red, but the do still have Driver so I am sure they have not given up hope!

On a more entertaining note I am enjoying every minute of the Charlie Adam saga. Looking at it completely from the perspective that rangers are in the sh**e financially and here we are debating the value of a player well into the millions that is being chased by one of the biggest clubs in England and supposidly Man Utd.

To think someone a ibrox got shot of him for 500k, they must be taking a real slagging right now.
