I used to go and watch Murrayfield Racers back in the 70s. Do the Capitals play at Murrayfield and when? Is it an entertaining evening?
I'm too lazy to seek the info myself.

Some quick information on the Capitals:
Capitals play at Murrayfield
Matches are mostly every Sunday evenings, faceoff at 6pm
Capitals are owned by former Racers player Scott Neil
Scott Neil is also currently General Manager and Head Coach
Capitals started the season with a decent squad, but have struggled badly lately after a mass exodus of players. We've started rebuilding, though it'll likely not be enough to salvage the season.
It's still an entertaining evening, and the old barn will probably be just like it was in the 70s

Thanks. Maybe I'll take up watching them again. Sounds cheaper and less traumatic than Hibs!

I wouldn't say that, but the one thing about the Capitals is the players give their all even if it's been a horrific few weeks. No lack of effort.

What is the standard of hockey like over here? I live just round from Braehead so was thinking of going to watch but at £15 a pop the standard of hockey must be pretty good right?

It depends on what you are used to, but the quality of play isn't that great. It is lower than the AHL, whose tickets cost about £14. I watched a lot of ECAC hockey in university (you can see my Univeristy's rink in Slap Shot) and the EIHL is probably comparable to that. A number of older former ECAC players play in the EIHL, Doug Christiansen for example.

I've not really kept up with UK hockey over the last couple of years, but they used to say the EIHL was around the same standard as the ECHL.
