Already out here in NZ, saw it last night. Superb stuff I must say :agree:
Funny thing is though I can't really recall Mickey Ward even though his fights with Arturo Gatti sounded phenomenal?!

They were marvelous fights - Gatti a clear winner in one, the other two you couldn't have got a wafer between them.
Saw the film in the US, thought Bale nicked it. Wahlberg was good, but he made the mistake of giving Bale the more interesting character to play. Straight fight between Bale and Rush as best supporting actor in the Oscars.

I really thought bale hugely overplayed his part. He was still ok, but for me Amy Adams stole the show.

Heard this is great. My mates watched this last week on dvd.
They also watched true grit and it's meant to be brilliant as well.

Bale was amazing IMO. I was left wondering what was happening with him most of the time, as I thought Wahlberg's performance was very average.

I was going down the stairs at the ht whistle and a young lad, late teens was coming up and just barged through everyone. I'm not small and he just about knocked me over. Before I could say something to him an older guy grabbed him and he just turned round and gave him a right hook to the face. Total headbanger.
They did make up at ft though. Amazing what a couple of goals can do :greengrin

I think Bale is an arrogant prick but thought he was absolutely phenomal in this film. If you watched the real Dickie Eklund as the credits roled I think Bale portryaed him superbly.
Great film.
