It looks like Kevin McCan is back with us although he has a knee injury and will likely be around 6-8 weeks before he is playing again.

Shame that, I would throw him in straight away if he was fit.

Injured again...

Shame that these injuries are probably going to cost him a career at Hibs. Could do with him at RB just now.

Far too injury prone..

Is he out if contract in the summer?

If so I'd hope we don't offer him a new one unless it's a "pay as you play" sort of deal..

Butcher is saying there that he would have signed McCann again if he wasn't out for as long as 6-8 weeks.

It's a real pity as he showed a lot of potential a couple of years ago, when he first broke into the first team but he seems to have recurring knee injuries and although it's never nice to have to let someone go because of injury, I think it's inevitable that McCann will be released at some point in the near future.

McCann could have been another £2M+ player for us - he looked a great prospect in his early games. Collins dented his confidence by playing him at CB and his form dipped a bit after that. Injuries have knackered his career but if he can get fit before the end of the season and recover a bit of his form I'd definitely give him an another contract, obviously weighted towards appearances.
