Nish - Vegetarian Supreme
Miller - Half and Half (Hearted)
Rankin - nothing, the girl on the counter never noticed him
Smith - nothing, he dropped his coming out of the shop
Calderwood - Pepperoni Passion , well I think that's what he was referring to in his interview

Custard pies and rotten tomatoes would be more appropriate. I'm glad I only had 20 minutes journey time to seethe after the game. I've watched some poor teams over the years but that bunch of losers are THE worst.

I needed to get a pizza the action on this thread.

All we really need to move up the league is a slice of good fortune. Maybe CC will stop being such a dough ball and pick a settled 11. I'm pasta caring anyway. We just need to crust that this result tonight will make RP and the board realise we need to spend some money or we will be falling down the leagues like dominoes.

Heard the part time Ayr player had to go do his pizza shift after the game and brought them back to the stadium bus for the super star Hibs players.

I heard Smith dropped his slice and a few of the players were too slow to get up and get a slice before it was gone.

Riordan was greedy and ate several slices and I even heard others gave their slice away as they didn't fancy it.

I'm no sports scientist but I've been told in the past that your body is still using up energy after physical exercise so it's important to load up on carbs within an hour of finishing. Pizza seems a sensible enough choice.

In seriousness pizza is a good choice for an after match meal providing your lifestyle is that of a professional athlete. Your body is still using huge ammounts of energy and pizza provides simple carbs and fat, fat being the bodies preferred source of fuel (hence why a low carb diet forces weight of quicker than a low fat one) and simple carbs are easily converted into usable sugars. Any red meats on the toppings will also provide a reasonable ammount of protein which helps muscle growth and repair.

Of course if your lifestyle is like a Hibs players and consists of walking off the training pitch when you can't be bothered, putting in zero effort in games and going out on the lash on George Street at any give opportunity then eating pizza post match will be detrimental as opposed to a positive but hey ho.

Don't think there's anything wrong with athletes eating pizza after an extended period of exertion. But to be enjoying it, or their lives in general, so soon after that particular performance is morally wrong.

Carbs before workout, protien after. Protien is most important for keeping fit try and get 2 gram of protien for every KG of body weight.

Lay off the fatty foods and greasy foods, they make you depressed and less motivated to work out . Get a good multivitiman too, you will feel the benefit after a couple of weeks.

Plenty of teams do have pizza etc in changing rooms when they finish games :agree:

Nothing wrong with eating a pizza at anytime of the day, as long as it's a real pizza. Anyone who thinks a Dominos pizza (or a pizza hut/chip shop pizza) is the real thing needs to do a bit of homework.

You would be shocked to know what mass produced food like those in fast food restaurants is actually made off. If I was a professional athlete and a specialist told me Dominos was a good source of carbs and vital nutrients, i'd make sure they never worked in the business again.

I am a sports scientist (or more accurately, was) and some Domino's Pizzas are as good as you can get for post exercise nutrition. Obviously a Mighty Meaty or a Full House wouldn't be the greatest (though still a million times better than nothing) and while bananas are good during exercise due to the relatively high sugar content, you'd have to eat quite a few of the buggers to take in sufficient calories after 90 minutes of football.

Contrary to popular belief, a large slice of Margharita pizza from Domino's is pretty much textbook at around 20% protein, 50% carbohydrate (5% sugar), and 12% fat (3% saturated).

I heard Robbie Savage talking about this when confronted by an angry Derby fan, furious that the team were tucking in to a pizza after a poor performance. He was saying pizza is one of the few available ready hot foods which has the required carbs/fats etc for after a game. It's nothing to do with enjoying yourself or treating the team.

Some folk need to cool down.
