This is not an advert or link to any sites. Although most of us can find them if we want, and i am watching Blackpool vLiverpool on a stream every bit as good as you get with sky player.I dont bother with sky anymore, many of my friends the same.

How long can these sattelite companys keep plowing money into football, when more and more people are watching illegally?

It used to be very iffy if you got a feed, or if it stayed on for more than 5 minutes at a time. Now these days, the pictures are much much better, and they last all game. Sky and the other broadcasters must be very worried indeed.

I still struggle to get decent streams most of the time.

I think the vast majority of people will still watch it in the legal way either at home or in the pub.

Fair enough, i can only talk for myself and my friends who a lot are and have cancelled sky. I have no trouble at all these days watching dodgy channels. The one at the moment is superb, and has not buffered once all game, and we are in the 90th minute.

Technology is getting better, i only see this taking off big style, and causing real trouble for the major company's in the future.

it would be superb if we were able to destroy them and with that, the ills of modern football

If the tv companies stop filming the games, then they'll not be available online either, and the only football we'd get to watch would be the SPL.

Some of these channels are very unreliable. Only tonight I watched one on which celtic drew 1:1 with hamilton. The stream must have missed several celtic goals, especially as I'm sure there was footage of lennon celebrating on c.97 minutes.

No, please gods no, not the spl:worried:

Maybe we would have to start going to games again.

Maybe we would get back to playing at 3pm on a saturday.

That would just be hellish:rolleyes:

Can you PM this amazing stream you speak of?

Also, Matty makes a fair point! :greengrin

And maybe then, without the corrupting dominance of the media driven money men (and ladies) the SPL would be worth watching.

Out of curiosity, what is the legal position relating to watching a dodgy stream? Is an offence committed by the viewer, the ISP provider or the stream provider?

do you watch them on your computer/laptop, or do you stream them onto your telly??

i've been thinking about getting all the stuff you need to stream films/footy etc through my telly from my laptop.... means i can watch it comfortably on the big screen.

watching the dodgy streams on my wee laptop screen does my head in.

Surely it's an infringement of copyright (Sky's or whoever's) - therefore illegal?

I'm not sure - but who is it that is infringing the copyright? Is it me for watching or the TV company who are screening the feed or my ISP for not taking appropriate action to ensuring it is not available?

Youtube for example don't screen certain programmes becuase of geographical copyright, the bbc dont stream radio commentaries outside the UK. I was just wondering whether I was indulging in some low level criminality if I have it on my laptop.

I very much doubt that the copyright holder will go after the person viewing a stream - it's too difficult for too small an offence. If, however you are responsible for a site hosting the stream or you are broadcasting it, then I think it more than likely that you'd be on the end of a cease-and-desist notification from the copyright holder's legal department before long.

Isn't that a wonky comparison: YouTube and the Beeb are legal companies: seems to me it's the "other lot" streaming illegally acquired sites that are infringing copyright. Maybe everyone's acting illegally - maybe it's somewhat like receiving stolen goods? No idea how anybody can police it though or stop it. I - for example - know there is a workaround to enable me to view the BBC iPlayer here in Germany, but the purported method actively requires me to install some software or change my ISP or something similar, something I'm not prepared to do - However, I watched 1st half of Celtic game last night on some site (excellent stream) and had to do no more than click on a play button - that doesn't "feel" as illegal as a Beeb workaround. All a bit of a grey area, I guess.

Anyway, I can't imagine the old Internet Police hunting high and low for me if I manage to acquire a decent stream of a certain cup-tie replay next Tuesday, surely they've more important things to do?

My telly's got the internet on it I think but I am the ultimate technophobe, does that mean that I can watch these streams (assuming I also got a PM with the excellent stream details ) without attaching my laptop etc ??

Do you mean that even the dodgy channels can't make a Liverpool victory a feasible option?

Just back from Portugal, where I watched West Ham v Arsenal on an Albanian channel. What's it all about, does every obscure broadcaster have to pay the EPL for rights?

I pay £3 a month to watch live football illegally. The picture is class and does not buffer at all. SKY are robbing gets and hope they get stuffed big time. They have ruined Scottish football big time.

Most pubs in the UK are switching over to this Italian network and the pub I drink in saves £600 a month by using this Italian company rather than SKY. Its going to a court case because SKY have exclusive rights to broadcast in the UK but European Law states you can use any network in Europe as long as its legit.

Fairly sure they do, but I bet they pay a lot less in Albania than Sky do in England.

We get a lot the Premier League games live over here and Sky Sport costs $20 NZD per month, that's about a tenner.

Does my head in too.

All I've got is a half decent laptop and a HDMI cable (and obviously a tele with a HDMI port) - works fine for me.

Probably not the most effective method but at under 20 quid for the cable, I have no complaints.

Also comes in handy with Lovefilm too.
