Fixed that for youDon`t know enough about Newcastle to know if it was a reserve team but you obviously do but it`s obvious from crowds and line ups that cup competitions are not as important as they were . Hearts fans like all the 1902 stuff and English FA people go on about " magic of FA Cup " but until semis or even finals it`s obvious clubs are not that bothered . Clubs only seem interested in selling lots of season tickets which don`t include cup matches . Strange in a way since our poor cup record in last few years after a lot of finals and semis in LC and SC in previous years must have cost us a few good signings .

If you compare the starting line ups of Newcastle and sunderland with recent premiership games it will be pretty clear where the priorities lie with the derby game next week, especially on the back of the 5-1 game at st james'.

Six out of the starting XI tonight, also started in the 5-0 win in midweek against West Ham.

In fact the only players who played tonight who weren't in the squad at all against West Ham were Alan Smith, who is an experienced player, and the young guy Phil Airey.

Not really a reserve side.

Newcastle can't have had that weak a team as Barton was in the starting line-up and he's one of the greatest players in England.

Not really a reserve side.

Simpson, Colocini, Barton and Nolan were the only regular first team starts. Others might have first team experience but they are not first team starting choices.
So I reckon seven out of 11 must surely count as pretty much a reserve team.

That said, even a premiership reserve team should be able to get a result against a lower division team and at worst should have taken it to a replay.
