Really? I thought it was average.

I'd say Shrek 2. Austin Powers 2 + Goldmember are both better than the first

Yeah. Last Crusade is much better than it.

The first 15 minutes in Shanghai were great, the following 2 hours were pretty dire. The Last Crusade and Raiders of the Lost Ark were much better. I'm one of the few people I know who enjoyed the 4th one as well:rolleyes:

Rocky 2

I didn't like Rocky 2.

I thought the 1st one was quite a good portrayal of the gritty life of a journeyman boxer. He got his shot, the champion didn't take him seriously, he came close but ultimately wasn't quite good enough. The 2nd one, IMO, was just too Hollywood. Rocky, despite 20 odd defeats on the slate suddenly develops into a boxer who can beat the undisputed champion even when he gives him his full attention.

Strangely i liked the other sequels becasue after the 2nd one took away from the realism of the 1st they just got silly and watching Rocky come back against Apollo Creed, convert Moscow to capitalism, beat up his own protege in the street and almost beat the champion at 60 years of age was pretty entertaining.

I know we've had our disagreements in the past but seriously, Godfather II? is someone putting crack cocaine in your cornflakes?

My cornflakes must have been dusted with the same stuff. The Godfather II is one of the best sequels ever. I would actually put it on the same level as the first movie rather than better though.
Part III on the other hand.............oh dear.

Its a masterpiece. Arent you thinking of III? thats the one where Pacino says 'i tried to get out, but they keep dragging me back in', and is undoubtedly desperate rubbish.

It absolutely is a masterpiece but I is genre defining and, in my view, the all time best film bar none. In particular the retribution scenes of settling with the heads of all the families while attending his son's christening and renouncing Satan and all his works is superb.

Wow, really? The Godfather 2 is an incredible film. I do think the first one is amazing as well, but the Sequel beats it imo and is one of the best films ever made. They really should have left it there though, as the 3rd one is a bit of a bore.

I like that aswell although it is a wee bit far fetched. Great acting by Hackman though

'For a Few Dollars More' and 'the Good, the Bad and the Ugly'.

'Godfather 1' and 'Godfather 2' are a perfect pairing - the third one's just dreadful.
