Probably...but I wish you would as there is no way that Booth will be LB...can't understand why so many are putting him in there (other than the No Rankin / Nish / Hogg means the lack of a first 11 scapegoat which Grounds seems to be getting now)

Booth has been playing left midfield in the second div (when he has played) as he did a significant part of time in U19's...why would anyone stick him in at LB...

Do people want a youngster to fail before he starts?

You know Hibs net, there always has to be a hate figure. One thing about all our current team being out of contract is the section of fans may have to start next year with no one to Boo - wonder what sort of noise they will make at FT!

PS its Thursday, I think the actual team may have an idea of the line up for Sat, but I cant imagine they will know for sure until tomorrow morning.

I would have liked us to have signed a couple of players by now, especially a new CB, but the above team has enough quality to beat Ayr convincingly - the question is whether they will play as a team, or Calderwood knows how to get the best out of them.

We have to play as strong a line up as possible, giving Zouma a wee run out for the first half at least. I'd keep Thicot at RB, and drop Grounds in favour of the superior Stevenson. I'd bring back Wotherspoon into the midfield, with De Graaf and Murray in the middle and Zouma on the other side. Duffy and Trakys up front for me. I'm not denying Riordan's ability, but he offers nothing for large periods of the game (Tin hat is firmly on). It also gives us a reasonably strong bench for the first time in a while, if we (God forbid) need it. Hopefully we won't.

Quite right- go with the acknowledged scoring prowess of Duffy and Trakys.

This is certainly not a game to go with the umpteenth new defence.

I forgot how prolific Riordan has been of late with his goal here and goal there... Duffy offers more than Riordan does (from what I've seen in the last two games), and we have to have Trakys in there. You can guarantee the Ayr defence (indeed their whole team) are going to bully us tomorrow (and we all know how Riordan doesn't like being bullied in matches), so why not go for something a bit different. Duffy looks energetic and keen. If we play a three man midfield, by all means I'd play Riordan. Do that and we hand Ayr an even greater opportunity imo.

I'm changing one player in the defence for a player who has been horrendous for us and offered nothing.

Sorry? When did Duffy or Trakys last score a goal against anyone?

Duffy has pace, which Riordan doesn't. Trakys has great heading ability, again which Riordan lacks. Derek offers a moment of magic maybe once in a match, and contributes (meaningfully) for about 5 minutes out of a 90 minute match imo - if folk took off the 'Riordan is one of our own, therefore is the dog's short and curlys' glasses, maybe folk would see that. We can't afford passengers tomorrow, or indeed in our 'relegation dogfight'. Yes, we need goal scorers, but I honestly think Duffy will be the hard working, goal scoring forward we need. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I'll hold my hands up.

Fair play. But I think Duffy will get goals for us, with the right service. I can't prove that, as I'm predicting. Yes, Derek has 100 goals for us, but that doesn't warrant a start. He scored the vast majority of those goals in his first stint with us.

I'll keep my mouth shut from now on though. I forgot that you can't come on here and say a bad word about Riordan without being caned.

Who has caned you? You made a statement, one i disagree with. Then you come back with Duffy has pace, and Trakys can head the ball. Give me someone who can create goals, and score them. Riordan does this, and when fit should be the first name on the team sheet imo, certainly before two players who have done nothing yet compared to Riordan.

Remind us who it is that's provided the right service this season so far for our strikers?

Riordan by comparison doesn't always need the right service to score goals.

And Duffy HAD pace at Falkirk. We've still to see evidence that he still has it after h's been scratching around the lower reaches in England.

BTW, I don't see anyone caning you. Just disagreeing that we should keep footballers out of the team in favour of workhorses.
When we have a team full of them every week I'll await the responses of those who advocate getting shot of Riordan, Miller and probably Zouma next if he has a few quiet games.

Wotherspoon, far more bad games and good over the last 12 months. Booth has never touched a ball for the first team so good idea dropping him straight into the starting 11. Zouma and McBride about 5 games between them over the last 9-12 months, another classic.

Your midfield / forward line up has an average size of 5 foot and weighs about 8 stone soaking wet.

I do however think that after the weekend Galbraith may feature ahead of the likes of Trackys.

No I wont.

The answer a lot on hibs net is change, change and change. For a lot of people on here to manage a football team for the afternoon they would need 10 subs just to get through the first half.

I dont think the team is going to change much from last week. I would think the back four will remain the same as they did okay. Given trakys performance last week I can see Nish or maybe an additional midfielder coming in for him and I hope will all of me that De Graff does not start.

My point is simply that if anything Ayr are going to be physical we cant afford to fill the team with players that are going to be to soft and pushed off the ball.

It's a game of opinions mate. It's your attitude when people dare see some fresh impetus into a team that is utterly bereft of confidence and ideas. Saying stuff like " another classic " because blackpoolhibs included Zemmama and McBride. Maybe he thinks they're better players than De Graaf and Murray. And you know what, he's probably right.

We can't all agree on a team. But stop trying to belittle someone with a different opinion than you.

He now See's nothing wrong in dropping booth straight in the side, against celtic, when he's never touched a ball in the 1st 11. Yet when i suggest it against ayr its wrong? FWIW i do prefer McBride to Murray or DeGraff.

Managers call as to whether or not to play Booth. Will playing against Celtic will bring on his confidence or may risk killing it. In the event he drops out I would move Stevenson to LB and bring in De Graff.

My gut tells me that Murray will play CH with Hanlon at LB with the likes of McBride and Wotherspoon starting in midfield. After last week, think CC may be tempted to keep zouma as a sub.
