There is a possibility that Doncaster, who have Northern Ireland midfielder Dean Shiels in their ranks, will make the move permanent if Healy delivers for them. SPL side Hibs will also keep a close eye on how Healy does.

Would be a great signing. I think Doncaster will have more money than us to offer though.

David Heally would certainly score goals up here, even at 32.

one day maybe...

Rather have a look at Peter Thomson only 27 this year prolific goal scorer in his league playing for Linfield.

We were linked with him before he moved to Stockport (where he failed miserably.)

Maybe an Irish Boyd - take him out his comfort zone and he does hee haw.

Healy's loan at Doncaster expired on Tuesday. Not seen anything about it being renewed but I'm sure wages would be a big stumbling block for us, even when we'd presumably just be signing him on loan.

People thought that about JJ who continued to score at International level but couldn't hit a barn door for us.

would be a good loan signing if we can afford his wages

IMHO that's what we need, some decent loans till the summer to help dig us out a hole, I would be wary of gambling and signing players on 2-3 year deals in January just cos we are Tom Kite, could just end up with more diddies

For me age in a quality player means nowt.

See Le God and Stevie Archibald.

Healy has 80 or so domestic goals and 35 international goals.

Maybe you should send your CV off to Hibs for a scouting role.

I would welcome this move, will it happen? Likely not, but would be a great move.

Probably thinking too much about this, but if we did get him and he was doing well, how long until Celtc would start sniffing about him.

he's got a bit of an 'issue' with the Celtc fans as it happens, which makes me like him even more:greengrin (from wikipedia);

In July 2008, as a Fulham (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulham_F.C.) player, Healy caused controversy[20] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Healy_(footballer)#cite_note-19) when he adopted the posture of a flute player (symbolic of the Protestant Orange Order, similar to a previous incident involving Paul Gascoigne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gascoigne)) in response to a question posed by Celtic fans chanting "Where were you on the Twelfth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelfth)?" during a pre-season friendly match against Celtic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_F.C.) at Craven Cottage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craven_Cottage). Healy subsequently apologised profusely for any offence he may unwittingly have caused and signed many autographs for Celtic fans after the game.[21] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Healy_(footballer)#cite_note-20)
In October 2008, Healy received several death threats after he welcomed an international goal he had scored by saying 'the famine is over'. The goal had come after an uncharacteristic drought at the time. Healy's comments were portrayed as a reference to Rangers fans' chant – "‘the famine is over, why don`t you go home?" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Famine_Song) Healy was oblivious to the fact that he had offended anyone saying, "I’m so disappointed and upset that anyone could even try and make this link. And when told about this I was I was totally bemused."[22] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Healy_(footballer)#cite_note-21)

I would love to see us sign Healy but I can't see it happening due to wages. Anyways if he was to come to Scotland, it would be the ugly sisters. However other ST we could look at are Adam Le Fondre from Rotherham & Charlie Austin from Swindon who both have really impressed me in the lower regions of Englsih football. And even Leigh Griffiths from Dundee who is a massive Hibs fan and Adam Rooney looks like a natural goalscorer.

Austin has been linked with a move to the Premier League recently so out of our range. Le Fondre always impressed me when he was at Rochdale and is doing really well for Rotherham, but I'm sure he'll also be on the Premier League/Championship radar, especially as he's started to get a bit of attention on the Football League Show etc.

most strikers don't score much goals if they're played at right mid
