Rotty/black lab cross.

Big chunky-headed hulking brutes, not as daft as labs or as aggressive as rotty's.

Ideal 'big dog' pets.

Smaller breeds - a French bulldog, a pug or organgy pomerainian, trimmed to look foxy.

That's the breed I have, when we got her we just went to the cat and dog home not looking for any particular breed but she's just a big daft dug with the most sweetest playful nature possible, her big sister is a collie/whippet cross and despite being half the size is definately the dominant dog.

Pedigree boxers are fantastic dogs and so are doberman pinschers. Come to.think of it I've not seen a pinscher for years, anyone know if they have became a bit of a rarity?

I have a Cavalier King Charles at the minute, who is a gem. Wonderful nature, extremely obedient, good with everyone, and a lovely companion dog.

That said, my favourite breed if I had to pick one would be the German Shepherd Dog. I'm on the lookout for a GSD puppy at the minute.

I have an 18 month old and he's called Paddy Stanton :agree:

He needs a lot of daily exercise but he is an obedient and loyal wee dog. Love him.

Bigger dogs are a bit chewy but smaller ones the meat seems to just fall of the bone. Maybe the chef has something ti do with it.

Pedigree boxers.

I had 2. Sugar Ray who died 4 years ago this week and Floyd who died about 18 months ago. Both lived to the age of 14 which is rare for boxers who generally die fairly young.

Considering getting another one but not sure i can devote the necessary time as they are very active, bouncy dogs and they act like puppies pretty much until the day they die.

Great dogs, loads of fun, full of energy with a great temprament and personality. Both my boys are still sadly missed.

My favourites are Beagles, although other posts have reminded me that boxers are dashed fine dogs aswell.

Roll on retirement, or that elusive lottery win, to let me get one.

I re-homed a retired racing greyhound (won 13 races) a few years ago and sadly lost her 2 years ago. The very best of dogs and great for the lazy dog owner as do not need a lot of exercise, just short bursts of speed. Can recommend without qualification--well only one--the letting off of wind is a paralyzing experience and happens frequently!
