Right, I've just worked this one out.

Only once (2004) in the last 18 years have Hibs won the game directly after Christmas. This isn't right, it's more than coincidence IMO. :I'm waiti

Did we not beat Raith Rovers right after Xmas in the season we were in the First Division (Xmas 1998)? Too tired to check it out but may do so tomorrow.

I do apologise,, that should say twice in 18 years, once in the top division (it was Ayr Utd). :greengrin

Funny enough, it was Hartley that scored that day.

Think that was the game Hartley was booked when a subbie and warming up but stopped the ball going out for a throw.

IIRC the ball was put out by Hibs for an injured player to be treated and when the opposing team returned the ball to our goalie (gottskalskin? Spell check ) he ran on from behind the goal to give it to him. I remember thinking at the time it was pretty stupid of him.

Interesting stat, if true.

Perhaps someone on the Hibs coaching staff should reflect on it.
