I'd like to wholeheartedly thank First bus for printing a christmas timetable for the holiday season and doing their best to avoid sticking anywhere near it.

I do enjoy standing for 40 mins for a bus surrounded by the slack jawed yokels that pass for human beings around Blackburn.

I also do relish the fact that because of your steadfast determination not to do what your are payed for I am now going to miss the match. Ok that may well be a blessing in disguse, but I've looked forward to this match.

Bus timetables are hopeless. Lothian Buses route leaflets show one set of times and the times shown on the bus stops are different!

Then the electronic displays at the stops are different again although they do at least have a foothold on reality.

I would imagine that by now you are preparing a letter of thanks to First Bus for sparing you the embarrassment of a painful afternoon watching a bunch of imposters treat your loyalty with the contempt it doesn't deserve?

It dioesn't help you in your war against First Bus, but I use this at home and on my mobile. It's excellent.

Lothian Bus Tracker. (http://www.mybustracker.co.uk/)

Once you find the bus stop you need, you can save that page to your favourites to save you having to enter the details everytime.

I have several bus stops saved including the one at the top of easter Road, but i don't think I'll be needing that one next season!

That's not really your fault, though, is it? Typical bus company putting its own bureaucratic needs before the wishes of the paying customer. What you want from a bus is for it to arrive at the stop just after you do - not long after (35mins FFS), or before, but just after - and I would be calling for the head of a bus company executive who insisted on putting its timetabling needs before yours.

Buses are truly the work of the devil and next to rangers, genuinely a hellish creation made by man, but spawned by satan. :agree:

Buses are awful, First in particular. About 7 quid a return to Edinburgh, they're often late and seem filthy. I hate the bus.

What a bunch of moaners:na na:

I much prefer the bus to driving, First Bus and LRT are both pretty reliable IMO.

Ridiculous, when you consider that you can ride LRT all day for £3.

Can do that with Firstbus too, but only if you stay within M region (http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/scotland_east/assets/pdfs/tickets/Scotland_Fare_Zones_Map.pdf).

Lothian buses don't run to Haddingon, so First exploit this. 7 quid-odd a return from Haddy? Sack that.

Aye, very dear for a family, though perhaps not so much so for a single traveller. 37 mile round trip - how much would that cost in a car, including petrol and wear and tear on the car?

Why not just buy a single to Tranent then a day saver from Tranent to Edinburgh return and a single back to Haddy Seemples:greengrin
