Got a great app for Android called Gtunes which is a search engine for mp3's and allows you to download the tracks you find.

So, if you had a restriction of only being able to recommend one song to someone to download, what would it be?

I'll go for The Boy With The Arab Strap, by Belle and Sebastian.

Or Back in Black by AC/DC

Arab Strap - The Shy Retirer.

Not only is it one of my favourite songs, it also continues the sex toy theme on this thread. Winner!

Pretty difficult to pick one song but I was blown away by Glasvegas first time I heard them and still love listening to them.

Any track would do but I'll go for this one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgKZR6SGF7I&feature=relate)

New album out soon as well - fingers crossed.

I absolutely love Glasvegas... Seen them several times, including at T in the Park in 08 when they played in the Future's Tent which has a very very small capacity. Ended up with the place packed, the tent closed and no room to really move. Was fantastic. Next year they played King Tut's tent, and covered Sunshine on Leith, unreal. Flowers and football tops is my personal favourite.

I do have one criticism of them though. Their first album was half class, half garbage. Hopefully their new one won't be like that.

Anyway, with threat of hijacking the thread, my tune to download would be Stay Lucky - The Gaslight Anthem.

Possibly my favourite version of any song is Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah. Predictable song but this version is :top marks in my opinion. Probably my favorutie ever song - will be played at my funeral.

I would recommend the whole American Slang album by the Gaslight Anthem. One of the best albums i've heard, and imo they're the best band around at the minute. Not a bad song on any of their three albums.

A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran

Would find it difficult to choose between that and "Wishing (If I Had A Photograph of You)" ... two Eighties classics.

The one song I'd recommend to anyone though would be "Does This Train Stop On Merseyside" by Amsterdam. Love it.

Go for it - some fantastic tunes, echoes of the hold steady and springsteen.

59 sound, and high lonesome are the standouts for me on "the '59 sound" album. Also recommend Teddy Thompson, son of Richard Thompson and Linda Ronstadt. Try songs like "I should get up" and "jonathan's book."

Dunno why anyone bothered covering it after Jeff Buckley but Rufus Wainwright done a decent job, still not as good as Buckley though :greengrin
