Surely must be given snowfall overnight. Hopefully an early decision can be made here to put us all out of our misery. :agree:

The SPL have arranged an inspection on Wednesday morning to determine whether that evening's Clydesdale Bank SPL fixture v Hibernian at NDP, 7.45pm kick off, can take place. The water and electrical problem which prevented the undersoil heating system from functioning at the weekend is being repaired but isn't expected to be concluded till early evening tomorrow, assuming a successful repair. However, it has been down to -10 over the weekend, the pitch is presently frozen solid, and it is to be -7 tonight and -6 daytime tomorrow. Notwithstanding the repair to the electrical heating pumps, the club would advise that there is a doubt at this stage over the game going ahead, but we shall give it every chance.

A very slim hope at best of the match being on.

They should just postpone it now and be done with it.

Fabulous postponement for us as no chance of a restaging until the window's open. Anything decent on TV tomorrow night? ;-)

Eh? Why on earth would they do that if there is a pitch inspection planned for Wednesday 9am?

Although I fully expect it to be off, an earlier decision would be nice so I don't need to waste booking Wednesday off work!

You know we're a poor side when we all seem to be dreading an away match versus Hamilton :boo hoo:

To be fair to Accies, their statement is informative, and allows some reading between the lines. Rather than announcing there will just be an inspection, it sends a message of "don't get your hopes up"

Hadn't realised it's on Wednesday....wasn't really bothered but a mate is due to be flying in from Aussie for Xmas and is trying to ruin mine by forcing me to NDP and Tincastle.

PS...if his plane doesn't take off I may have a spare brief for the bus shelter.

Wednesday's Clydesdale Bank SPL game between Accies and Hibernian has now been postponed withiut the need for an inspection. Both clubs have agreed that the pitch is presently unsuitable for play. Hibernian Secretary Garry O'Hagan called in at NDP on Tuesday lunchtime and after discussions with Scott Struthers both clubs reported their concerns to the SPL. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course. Accies Secretary Scott Struthers commented, "Naturally it is disappointing to lose this fixture for a second time to the weather but in the present circumstances the game had no chance of taking place tomorrow. It was -15 locally at 8.30am this morning and still minus 10 at lunchtime. I am glad that the sensible decision to postpone has been reached today."

No surprise there really and quite delighted to hear it.
Wonder if there is any chance we can just postpone the whole season?
That would certainly do for me.

Delighted.

Just hope this freezing weather continues into mid-January.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear the forecasters saying that the "Big Thaw" should be starting on Boxing Day. :boo hoo:

At least it's early notice. On the downside, it means I'm lacking an excuse for a day off work tomorrow

Would be great if someone accidentally caused a load of damage to the under soil heating system at the asbestos arena, getting the derby postponed would be ideal!
