We need to win 5 games to get the Scottish cup...what route would you take? Name your route???

example a so called easy route...

4th round Brechin at ER
5th round Dumbarton at ER
1/4 finals Clyde at ER
Semi's Falkirk at Hampden
Final Dundee at Hampden

or a dream route

4th round Celtic at Darkheid
5th round Huns at Ibrox
1/4's Aberdeen at ER sell out
Semi's Dundee Utd at Hampden
Final Hearts at Hampden

I'd go for the dream route...but mind you as long as we win it sometime i don't really care how we do it!

I'd get the bus to Haymarket, train to Glasgow QS, walk down to Central, another train out to Hampden then a short walk to the ground. Several alcoholic beverages along the way!

Does anyone really care?! It'd be nice and all that but I don't know a Hibby who is really that fussed! The JT's are more obsessed than us!

I'd try the easy route.

Start with a non-league team at home, then Montrose at home, then Ross County at home, then...oops...maybe not.....

the easiest possible route, tho we'd still make a Harry Hunt of it.

Arbroath Montrose Celtic Rangers and the **** in the Final. But under no way would i want to see the Glorious win the holy grail against some ***** team on penalties.

I don't care how we win it and who we beat on the way there.....we need to get that particular monkey off our backs then perhaps we may just win it more often!

Scottish Cup win is one of two things I want to see happen in my lifetime.

Any route, but what I would do is pay bigger win bonuses to players that play in each round, say £1000 3rd round, £2000 4th, £3000 quarters, £5000 semi, and £10000 final. Would cost the club £294,000 max.

I couldn't care less how we win it but if you were to say to me that we were guaranteed to win the cup, I would want Hearts in the final.

Hibs would probably fold a couple of months later if we were to win it that way as most of our fans would probably drop dead either of a heart attack or of alcohol poisoning.

I actually worry if I could cope with the stress, imagine being 1-0 up in the 89th minute, defending a constant onslaught, just holding on, defence panicking, and the 4th official holds up the board with 7 minute extra

Be serious. We'd NEVER be lucky enough to get a draw like that!

I'd take any route possible. ANY route. I wouldn't care who we got, as long as it wasn't the Yams in the final, I wouldn't want those poisonous hoards being able to claim anything about that particular Scottish Cup Year. Like other posters I'm not sure what my reaction would be. But I'd be phoning work to say I'll not be in for the next fortnight

The last time Hibs won it , they had to beat the two major power's in Scotland.
11/1/02 H, Clyde, W 2-0.
25/1/02 A, Port Glasgow. W 5-1.
22/2/02 A Queens Park, W 7-1.
22/3/02 A Rangers, W 2-0.
26/4/02 A Celtic W1-0.

Thats right Lads we had to beat, Clyde and Queens Park to win it. And they were without a doubt, the top dogs at that time. :greengrin

I'd like to win it by 3-0 default win over the Yams, whose players refused to turn out having failed to be paid for the 7th week in a row.

The long afore sold-out Hearts end completely gutted as the Hibs starting eleven kicked off against no opposition just before the ref blew to signal the win.

Due to a combat 18 march the police had instructed all fans were to remain locked in the stadium until 30 mins after the cup had been presented.

On the way home our trains and busses partied all the way along the M8 via Tynie for the party Edinburgh has never seen the likes of, whilst the Yams were stuck in the West as the bus drivers had all left for home after dropping them off due to unpaid bills by the sponsoring club owners.

If not, I'll take anyone at ER for starters.

Prerequisite to lifting it must be to put out one of the teams that has a special relationship with the Scottish cup.

Can someone please remind us how many times Homo FC have actually won it in the last 108 years

Couldn't care less how we win it, and considering Hearts last victory came against Gretna, they can't say anything about it should we luck are way through with an easy draw.

In any case, last season we squandered probably the best route we'd ever get to the Final, so the draw means little in a one off battle.

Sorry to prove you wrong by I for one certainly want to see the Scottish Cup at ER with Hibernian FC engraved on it. Been supporting Hibs since 1953 and had so many heartbreaks at Hampden I've just got to get my wish before I pop my clogs.

It would be really sweet to beat both the OF and then the Yams in the final though

Health couldn't cope with them in the final and them going on for weeks about empty seats and how they could fill the stadium themselves as they are a big club. Hope they get thrashed by some none league team in the 4th round whilst we beat Rangers 3 - 0 (again) at Ibrox. Then couldnt care who we beat as long as they are easy wins with a nice sunny day to celebrate a famous cup win................

Would rather get the Yams out of the way in an earlier round rather than wait to play at Hampden, though it'd be nice to dispell the demons of last time around.

Be nice to dispose of Hearts in the semi then any team in the final. But to be honest I don't care how they do it just as long as they do it before I start pushing up the daisies....
