It was 30 November last year.

It'll be whenever Rangers want it to be then if Celtic get an SPL side away from home, Neil Lennon will seek clarification from the SFA saying it's not fair and they want answers.

You heard it here first.

I'll stick my house on Rangers at Ibrox.

We should look at this like any of the Scottish Cup also rans and hope for a big draw at Ibrox or Parkhead or a home draw to the Yams so we can get some money into the coffers to spend in the close season.

Coz I have to say after watching the best Hibs team of the last 15 - 20 years screw up against Dunfermline and the Hibs team who couldnt have been handed better draws if I had made them screw up home and away against a village team.

Not to mention the countless semi final and two finals disappointments since 1975 or so, all of which I have been at. As have you dear reader I have no doubt.

I wouldnt risk a quid at 1000/1 on this Hibs team even reaching the semis.

Having said that I have decided that this season no matter where we end up going I will be at the game.

C' mon the Hibs !!!

There's only two certainties about this competition,

We will not win it
The media & and Yams keep talking about our record in it.

Hope that lot have to pay an early visit to Castle grey skull, that apart, our draw is pretty much insignificant.

Unless they've moved the border without telling anyone, Shielfield Park is in England!

It is in Tweedmouth rather than Berwick itself, but both are in England. The border kicks north of the Tweed about five miles inland. Hertz legend Jimmy Wardhaugh was born north of Berwick - Marshall Meadows - which is in England, although he played for Scotland. That was despite it being long before the parentage rules came in.

I bet the majority of Hibs fans thought this is an easy one when the draw was announced and you can bet your boots the players are thinking along the same lines so we take them lightly at our peril. You only have to think back to the last cup run when we nearly gave Irvine Meadow a goal or two of a start with arguably a better squad than we have now so this is a far from a forgone conclusion, remember it's the Hibs we are talking about.

I must be in the minority then.

After the fiasco of our last SC campaign I will never again take any Hibs fixture even remotely for granted in that competition.

Expect a horror result and we just might be pleasantly surprised.

Many of the problems in the team that became apparent later were exposed in those games against Irvine Meadow and Montrose ahead of that time. Both of those teams should have scored 2 or 3 goals.

We will only ever win this cup beating SPL teams, an easy run just always ends in disaster. Think we would win it if we got drawn the OF in a semi but not a final when they just always win.

Although we obviously had to go to Ross County in a replay last year, the last time that we had an original tie against an SFL side, away from home, was almost four years ago when we were drawn away at Queen of the South in February 2007.

Since then, our ties in the Scottish Cup (prior to semi final stage) have been;

Inverness (H)
Rangers (H)
Rangers (A) REPLAY
Hearts (H)
Irvine Meadow (H)
Montrose (H)
Ross County (H)
Ross County (A) REPLAY
Ayr Utd (H)
