A super well done to MountcastleHibs on not only winning but breaking the 1,000 point barrier, one of only 74 people out of 2,628 in the competition to do so. Unfortunately there are no prizes despite repeated requests from the admins.

Well done to everyone else taking part of the 3 mini-leagues I’m in, the other two being car nut clubs, Hibs.net were way, way ahead of them, despite us having a couple of folk desperate for last place – I won that one.

Next year if I do it we will have two leagues, one out to win the thing and our second league competing for last slot then we’ll see how we do.

Well done again MountcastleHibs, a worthy winner.

Cheers Jack. First time I've entered a fantasy F1 so must be beginners luck. The proof will be in defending my title next year haha.

Well done to everyone who took part this year!

My second team came 3rd and my original team was 12th. Not disappointed with that.

I look forward to next year!

I don't understand the scoring system.
In the last race, my first choice won the race, my 2nd choice driver was 4th in the race and I end up with only 29 points from it

Don't go asking me about chasis etc because I have no idea, no idea even what I selected.

Still found it all quite interesting though and well done to the winner

It's all about your race position being an improvement on your qualifying position if I recall correctly. So Vettel didn't improve (he couldn't) so you just get the points for a win for him.

Even more confused now. That means you get extra points if your driver makes an rs of qualifying but then does well in the race?
Seems a bit unfair to me, a bit of fun though and not getting upset about it.

I read the rules once a few years ago.

I think the basis of the scoring system has a lot to do with qualifying positions in relation to finishing positions i.e. if your choice qualifies on pole but comes in 6th in the race that drop is a negative figure that will be deducted from positive figure for finishing 6th. The opposite if your 6th place qualifier wins the race; points for winning plus the points for jumping from 6th to 1st. I think the driver / chassis / engine points are worked out using the same method.

I cant remember the points but lets say its 25 for a win [10 for 6th place] and +/- 5 for position.

Pole to 6th

10 points for finishing 6th less 6 x 5 for losing position = 10 – 30 = -20

6th to 1st

25 points for finishing 1st plus 6 x 5 for climbing to 1st = 25 + 30 = 55

Not really seemples!

The figures used in the above example are for illustrative purposes only. Your driver / chassis / engine combination could see the value of your team go down as well as up. The points system illustrated is the points system in use at this precise nano-second of time and may or may not have been the points system used to calculate your league position either at the end of the season or at any time during the season. The season is defined as from the first race of the season to the last, however the organisers may expand, contract or cancel the season, as they see fit. All people in the examples above are purely fictional and any resemblance to persons living or dead is entirely coincidental. Likewise any prizes offered by the admin pricks of Hibs.net are also likely to be fictional and have no similarity to actual prizes. This bit must be read as quickly as possible in one breath to cost as little as possible for the air time allotted and so to give the listener absolutely no chance of taking any of it in.

Jack - nothing to really do with me, but i'm sticking my nose in anyway. Why do you believe that the admins of the site should put up a prize for a competition that is ran independently to the site? You've only mentioned it a few times.....

What sort of prize were you looking for? If a prize is important, why not donate something yourself or ask one of the other competitors to donate something.

Originally, 3 years ago when it started, I had asked the admins to put up a few vButtons for the winner. I thought this may provide a bit more encouragement for folk to join, (IIRC there were only 8 or so of us or so back then), and add a bit of extra spice to the competition. The number of participants has grown year on year (I think this year there were nearly 30 individuals taking part) and the Hibs.net mini-league is one of the largest in the overall competition. I want it to be the biggest. We have also constantly been in the top 3rd of the league of leagues.

I’ve carried on my quest as a tongue in cheek holy grail for recognition by the admins for the ‘all Hibs.net’ competition. One day they’ll slip up / get fed up and relent. :greengrin There are after all a number of free competitions on Hibs.net where prizes are offered. :agree:

I have put up prizes in the past, a pint in Tamson's before the game.
