If only egos (on both sides) could be put aside we would see the fight every boxing fan wants to see.

The best technical boxer of his generation (and IMO the most technically gifted boxer since Ray Leonard) up against a man who throws punches relentlessly. They say styles make a fight and a defensive genius up against a trigger happy offensive speed merchant should make one hell of a fight.

It's just sad that we are unlikely to ever see Floyd Mayeather back in a boxing ring and Pacquaio maybe once more max. Boxing is about to lose the 2 best fighters of a generation and definite future hall of famers.

If they don't fight they will lose a lot of credibility. Especially pbf with his big mouth.

As far as I'm concerned they're both ***** if they don't fight.

:agree: It's pathetic and they must know everyone and their dog wants to see this fight. The money they each could make would be unreal. And as long as the fight is close i don't think the loser would lose any credibility or lose their legacy, they are both head and shoulders aove any other fighter.

The worst part is that they have both pulled out of deals to fight. There was a deal on the table in January signed by Mayweather that Pacquaio refused to sign ,despite agreeing verbally, the same deal was back on the table in June and this time Mayweather refused to sign.

I think a lot of it is to do with bad advice and greedy promoters. Pacquaio is flat out refusing to deal with Golden Boy or Mayweather Promotions, is it any coincidence his last 3 fights have been against Bob Arum promoted fighters and his next fight is rumoured to be a rematch against Cotto? I think Arum has a few questions to answer although i'm sure he would say otherwise. Floyd is acting like a spoilt child, he wants the fight under the Mayweather banner and is moving the goaalposts to get this.

Unfortunately i don't think we will ever see this fight. Mayweather has an aggravated assault charge over his head, his Uncle Roger has a weapons charge and both could face jail. The only other man who could realistically train Mayweather is Floyd Snr and by all accounts he is pretty seriously ill. Pacquaio has made it clear he wants to concentrate on politics sooner rather than later and even Freddie Roach admitted he wasn't giving his all in training until a couple of weeks before Margarito.

Lookss like this one joins Hatton v Witter, Lewis v Bowe and a Leonard v Hagler rematch on my regret list.
