Really defensive but given the amount of goals we have conceded and the lack of attackin options maybe worth a try?

I think CC has made it clear that he is not a fan of Hogg.
Therefore the replacement for Bamba in defence is either Dickoh or Stephen .
I would hope Murray and McBride play in midfield with de Graaf and Miller and Nish, if he is fir upfront,
The decision then is either boosting the midfield with Bamba, or playing Trakys up front with Nish.

Hanlon is a bit suspect for me at the moment, I think he could be a very good player, perhaps he needs to be playing alongside Murray or Hogg. Regardless for yesterday Dundee Utd, Aberdeen performances I would be tempted to drop him.
Galbraith was shown up yesterday so would drop wotherspoon back in and keep Galbraith on the bench, of course bringing him off for some sort of last minute winner.

I'd play 4-2-3-1 home and away every week. With the players we have available I'd have to go with.
GK: Brown
LB: Grounds
CB: Hanlon.
CB: Bamba.
RB: Hart.
DM: Murray
DM: Hogg
RM: De Graff
CM: McBride
LM: Stevenson.
ST: Nish.
I know Nish might not be 100% but I'd tell him, needs must and go out there and prove them all wrong.
And obviously if we had a fully fit squad with our loan players back the team would be diff.

a bit like Levein in that I would play no strikers, but the four have licence to get forward with Bamba and Murray sitting in front of back four. It is damage limitation and based on the fact we have no strikers (Trakys looks like a really poor Nish).

Carlos
Eder
Jardel

But since Hibernian have seen fit to register none of these players for SPL Duty then it will have to be:

I like the idea, but only if we do not punt it straight down the middle, as this is what happened on Sunday and all it did was give the ball back and invite them on to us.
If we could play a pass out of defence or get the ball to them either Spoony or Danny quickly this may work.....then again I have probably just spotted a couple of flaws in my plan.....:grr:

Everyone else digging in like crazy and scrapping for 90 mins (yes, including you, Mr Miller!). Galbraith off the bench for last 20 mins if we're not 10-0 down.

I know its a while since Murray played left mid but he is a strong runner and in an advanced position is less likely to be caught out of position or turned easily and might give Whittaker something to think about, same goes for Spoony on the right. The defensive cover provided by Bamba and McBride would allow Miller to play in a more advanced role and play off Nish (I hope!)

I was thinking there on Sunday when i saw the line up, and that Riordan was called to play up front by himself. Why don't we shove Bamba upfront? Especially against the Yams physical defence.
The likes of Allardyce at Blackburn does this sort of thing with Samba when he is short of strikers. Play Bamba right up top with Riordan off him. That way we can bring in someone else for centre back seen as tho we have plenty of them! We don't have the right quality in players at the mo, for the fast paced football, so seen as tho we are content to playing it long, get someone up there who can win headers, hold the ball up, and bring it down. He's showed a hell of alot at the back he has the skill set to play a bit nit just defend.
With this in mind, Id like to see us try something like
Brown
Hart Hanlon Stephens Grounds
Murray Miller
Wotherspoon De Graff Galbraith
Bamba
Id also stick with this when Riordan comes back, and replace De Graff

Exactly, they knew that if they gave the ball away we would immediately give it back to them but we still insisted on the long balls to Galbraith who was never going to win in the air.
Everything is too slow with Hibs, we don't recycle the ball quickly enough at the throw ins and don't pass quickly enough to move forward. Why? Because there is no off the ball movement. We can't play simple triangles, there is never a simple outlet for the ball let alone a couple as it should be. Full backs don't give the keeper the option of the wide ball centre backs and wide midfielders don't push up to give the full backs the options. Therefore the ball goes back to the keeper who punts it up the field.
The players either don't know what they're supposed to do or are too lazy or thick to do it. Personally - don't think that they haven't been coached what to do, so they are either thick or lazy!!

Lets just prey and hope that the huns dont get an early goal tonight against us, they will be looking to get the goal difference back after celtc doing the sheep.
No goal threat tonight that i can see and thats the big worry for me, they will score atleast one goal, will wee. :boo hoo:

That's my fear. I don't think I will be able to listen to the game tonight. I'll probably just watch the Manchester derby then check out our result afterwards. Hopefully I won't be too suicidal.

Defo Andy, Bis Sol has been poor at the back recently but I reckon he's got more ability and skill in his wee toe than Valdas Trakys. Better first touch, stronger, wins more in the air. Let Galbraith and Wotherspoon attack from wide and have Sol mixing it up in the box. I think he's a good enough footballer to do that.
We're not going to get anywhere by trying to pass the ball out from the back and even if we do then it will all be for nothing once it gets as far as Trakys and I don't think he's good enough to play as a target man.
Given recent performances the whole system might need a rethink. I hadn't considered shifting Bamba up front but agree that it would be well worth a try. If it doesn't work then so be it but it would seem CC likes the direct game - I don't think we have anyone more suited to winning balls in the air and holding up play.
Really can't see CC going for it but it'd be interesting.
