Interview with John Robertson in this mornings Scotsman as the build up to Sunday continues.
Interesting to see he mentions a Hearts player who with his personal bonus on top of the team bonus plus his car and flat, is costing Hearts £19,000 a week.
Who is it?

We have a winner!

Considering the huns will be paying about the same, the yams should consider anything less than a title challenge as failure on fat jim knew's part.

Would it not be Zaliukas? He was trying to get a deal of circa £19k.

Whoever it is they wouldn't have cost them £19k last week and hopefully it won't be £19k next week either.

Black is on £8k a week

No chance whatsoever he's on that. Barr's on 8k though IIRC.

Across on Yakback, they seem to think it Zaliukas on the basis that is a short term hit to benefit the team in the future by selling him in the summer for £5m

:faf: oh my sides, mind you, they are a big team, so its expected of them that they have someone on that sort of money, Erses.

With no sell on value... Shirley no???

Edit: is Zaliukas not just on loan from Kaunas (hence the £6k pw) and this is the deluded ones trying to get him permanently?

I for one do not know how they survive as a club paying 6 or 8 k a week let alone 19.

35 million in debt and still managing to pay that sort of wage. It does not add up TBH.

Surely they will implode at some point????

He signed a 3 year contract a couple of weeks ago......

I know folk who are pretty close to him and the story he tells is that the deal the Yams put to him was 800 a week more than Mixu offered him and he told mixu if he matched it he would come to us but Rod would not budge. so I think 4k rather than 8k but then that would mean we put a 3.2k deal to him. Jeez I thought Mixu had an eye for a player:greengrin

They've now converted 98% of their debt into shares. So unless somebody buys them and clears the debt at the same time (like what the Man City owner did), there is no way they can clear their debt unless they start making a profit every season. It doesn't add up, and unless they are bailed out next season the debt will have grown again.

Things will come to a head within the next couple of years - no bank is going to accept a big loss every season. Either they will go bankrupt, go into admin or (and this is the option I prefer), downsize their wage bill so they can only afford players on, say, £1k a week. If we can't beat them consistantly for years in that situation then we don't deserve to be the "big" team in Edinburgh.

Don't know who it is but I wish it was me. Talk about fantasy jobs! I'd even do in my own knee so that I could sit on the treatment table without having the social embarrasment of wearing those awful colours while I ran my contract down. However Driver and loads more, to be fair, have already cottoned onto that scam.

:agree: Seems to be the chat over at Fantasy Island, Yammish relative (spends more time in the golf club bar than at games at the weekend) claims to know someone at the club who says the same thing. Mind you its probably the guy that scrapes up the asbestos ash after all that foot stamping in the stand at home games.........

Ian Black is on 4k a week , not 8.

When Black signed he was offered £6k a week and add on bonuses or £8k a week and he took £8k. So unless his contract has been re-negotiated since then he is on £8k a week.

Paying 43 mill for a vase or 100 mill for a cup - its the Yam way.
