Are any of you looking forward to the Haye fight followed by the Pacman fight?

I believe both are on the 13th. A few mates and I are planning a boxing day/night out.

It's likely we'll be going to an amateur boxing card during the day, watch the Haye fight and then back to a mates for the Pacman fight.

So a few questions for you guys, what are your thoughts on both the fights?

I reckon that Haye should destroy Harrison but would find it funny if that idiot Harrison won!

I'm not really sure about the Pacman fight as I can't even recall who he's fighting (Margaretta?).

Have any of you ever been to the casino to watch the boxing?
Are any in the centre of town that will be open when the Pacman fight starts?
Can you drink all night in there (obviously without being wasted - which is probably going to count this idea out!)?
Where is decent for the boxing normally?

Pacquiao is fighting Margarito on that Saturday as well but the program doesnt start til 2am on Sky Sports 1. I'm not sure when the Haye fight will take place.

Anyway, The Gala Casino at the Maybury will have both fights on, and will have the Haye fight on in 3D.

I'm pretty annoyed Sky are showing the Pacquaio fight on Sky Sports but charging a ridiculous price for Haye v Fraudley on Box Office, i would have been far more tempted to buy if they combined the 2 into one package.

Haye should beat Harrison no problem. Harrison has a punchers chance and nothing more, he's too slow, lacks the heart and spirit or the imagination to beat Haye. A few people seem to be swayed by his talking and supposed confidence but he's like this before every fight and has consistently failed to deliver. The only reason it's getting so much attention this time is Sky are trying to sell the fight as more than the mismatch it is. I don't blame Haye for taking this fight one bit, it will make decent money. The Klitschkos have no desire to fight Haye unless it is on their terms 100%. Thats all very well for has beens like Shannon Briggs or never gonna bes like Chris Arreola and Derek Chisora but an ex unified cruiserweight champ and current heavyweight champ deserves to have more bargaining power.

Pacquaio v Maragarito could have been interesting but for 2 reasons probably won't be, the weight stipulations and Margaritos lack of action. Yet again the 'catchweight king' Pacquaio will fight for a world title well below the division limit. Winning a welterweight tite at 145lbs was bad enough but fighting for a junior middleweight title at 150lbs is getting beyond a joke. Of course there will be little criticism of Pacquaio because we all know he's honest and one of the 'good guys'. I have little doubt that Pacquaio will beat a ring rusty Maragrito who hasn't fought a 12 rounder since being destroyed by Shane Mosely, a man Mayweather recently schooled yet i hear no criticism of Pacquaios choice of opponent, this after fighting Joshua Clottey, another fighter who was a sub standard opponent for the 'best boxer in the world'.

Haye and Pacquaio to win, expect a couple of TKOs, possibly very wide UDs, neither are fights that are getting me particularly excited.

Passport or driving license will get you a membership.

Bar usually open until about 6, kitchen closes about half 4.

Maybury Casino definitely got it on in 3D. Looking forward to it.

Decent priced bevvy and its not Ascot prices! Can get scran as well till all hours!

Haye unbackable to win the fight, might put a few quid on a 2nd or 3rd round stoppage. 6/1 on Laddies

Harrison weighs in at 18st 1.5lbs, Haye at 15st 0.5lbs. A big, big weight difference, the lightest Haye has ever weighed in at in his 5 heavyweight fights.

Still fancy Haye to walk it though.

Yes and yes.

I'd turn up early though. I'm not sure how busy it'll be but there was a huge queue for new members when Hatton fought Mayweather.

I wouldn't have thought it would be as busy as that fight but it is earlier so who knows.

Harrison is a pain but size wise he is a true heavyweight unlike Haye, magnificent physique or not. Harrison always flatter to deceive but win this and he'll be made for life after his next fight regardless of result. Unlike that big Russian lump, Harrison can move away and use his big arm to paw back. Hecs also not daft enough to charge in like Ruiz. I remain unconvinced that Haye can swallow a big punch, his last two opponents weren't renowned for landing a hammer. Harrison sound heavy because of the weight difference but don't forget his size. Haye has earned the right to be favourite but I'm taking Harrison to KO him in 7, 8 or 9 after a lot of holding and leaning. Tough fight to ref.

As the fight approaches I'm less confident for haye, as You say Harrison is a true heavyweight and he'll be more agile than that Russian lump.

My mate reckons pacman could find it hard tonight although this will be the other boys first fight since being banned.

What people forget about Harrison though is he isn't a big puncher. That KO against Sprott was a peach and the type of punch most fighters land only once in their career. He has a lot of KOs on the record but most of them were against punchbags with pulses. He may be agile but he lacks a killer instinct, going back to the punch against Sprott had he not been desperate he would never have dreamed of throwing that punch.

Margaritos 2nd fight back, he looked awful in a 10 rounder a few months ago.

Pacquaio will beat Margarito. Margarito is big but he's been vastly overrated for reasons i can't understand. The win against Cotto seemed to really push him into the spotlight in the welterweight division, although given the state of Cottos' face after that fight and the subsequent events prior to the Mosley fight, where Margarito was destroyed, i'm still not convinced there wasn't something dodgy going on there. Margarito has 6 defeats on his record with only one being against a 'top' fighter, Paul Williams. He's too ponderous, too predictable and nowhere near skilled enough to beat Manny. In fact the only reason he is in a ring with Manny is because he is promoted by Bob Arum, which will be the same reason Mannys next fight will be a rematch with Miguel Cotto, but thats a whole other argument.

Is the Haye-Harrison fight re-run on SKY free of charge a day or two later? :dunno:

There are repeats on box office until tommorow at 7 so i'd guess it will be sometime between Wednesday and Friday before it will be on Sky Sports.

The guy is a total embarrasment. If anyone ever thought he would take it to the later rounds of the fight, let alone win is about as deluded as Audrey himself.

He should have retired about 5 years ago. Joke
