For anyone who fancies a wee punt on this weeks golf..........
WGC - HSBC CHAMPIONS <http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/wgc-hsbc-champions/wo=
rld-golf-championships-hsbc-champions/winner>=20
Tournament: It's the second time this event has had official WGC status and=
the sixth time it has been staged in all. It draws players from all the ma=
jor tournaments, however generally it's the well-known names who rise to th=
e top.
Course: The Sheshan course in Shanghai has tree-lined fairways and water is=
in play on 10 holes, including the driveable par 4 16th. 4 new tees have a=
dded about 100 yards to the overall length to make it a par 72 of 7,266 yar=
ds. The sloping greens should be firmer and faster than last year.
Qualities Needed: Last year the course was supposed to be more difficult an=
d the winning score was the second-lowest in 5 years with no premium on dri=
ving accuracy or GIR. Previously strong iron play had seemed essential.=20
Field: A limited field of 78 includes 8 of the world's top 10 and 33 of the=
top 50.
Weather: Mild and fine, with lights winds.
Bookies: Just SPTGBET and TO still to go up. Despite the smaller field the =
EW terms are still 1/4 1-5. Tiger is 8/1 favourite.
Staking: 11 points on 4 players at 16/1, 22/1, 33/1 and 80/1 who have all p=
layed well here before.
[NO 1 PICK] MARTIN KAYMER <http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/wgc-hsbc-champi=
ons/world-golf-championships-hsbc-champions/winner> , TWO POINTS EACH WAY @=
16/1 B365, BO, BS, LA, SJ, WH. only 12/1 EX
1. Racked up three wins in a row before his T21st last week - well suited h=
ere he can return to his best form this week.
2. His form figures in the majors and strokeplay WGC events this year read =
T3rd/MC/T8th/T7th/T22nd/WON, so he has regularly been in contention in the =
biggest events and relishes the challenge they offer.
3. Good T6th 2009 on his course debut last year, spoilt only by R2 74.
IN SUM: Current form, course form and having a great year in the top events=
. It points to a high finish come Sunday.

/1 BO, SJ; 20/1 B365, BF, BS, LA, VC, WH; only 16/1 EX
1. Arrives here on the back of 6 consecutive top 25s, all in majors, WGC ev=
ents or FedEx Play-Offs.
2. Most recently he was 2nd BMW Championship and T4th Tour Championship.
3. Has played here every year and has only one 'failure', when he withdrew =
last year (6 under after 3 rounds). Prior to that he'd been T7th/T6th/T9th/=
T11th with an eclectic score (67-68-66-68) of 17 under.
IN SUM: Fresh after a break and on a course he loves.

ship and T6th JT Shriners.

th =E2=80=93 he was 4th drvg distance and 3rd Putts per GIR.
3. 4th birdie avg and 10th A-R on the US tour, his weakness (driving acc) i=
sn't heavily penalised here.

AY @ 80/1 B365; 70/1 BO, BS, SJ; 66/1 VC, LA, CO, WH; only 50/1 BF.
1. As one of the big bombers of the game he enjoys the tests of power rathe=
r than finesse, so his 5th in the Dunhill Links is much more relevant to hi=
s chance this week than his 57th/T55th finishes since.
2. Has course form figures of 10th 2008/T8th 2009, with 4 of his 8 rounds i=
n the 60s.
3. Despite his wayward driving he's 35th GIR, so he'll give himself lots of=
birdie chances, and let's remember he was T6th in the WGC-CA at Doral, so =
he's comfortable competing at this level.
IN SUM: Has won 4 European tour events with an avg winning score of 15 unde=
r. At these odds it's well worth chancing that he can produce a similar res=
ult on a course he likes.
