With our neighbours due at ER next Sunday, what are your favourite memories of the ER derbies? The good times, the fun times.

It is not often that we score last minute winners against Hertz, but Garry O's was very enjoyable. I remember being not confident going to that game and saying I would take a scrappy last minute winner. His goal was anything but scrappy. What made the goal even sweeter was that we were wrongly down to 10 men with Brebner having been sent off (resulted in a fan attacking the ref IIRC). After the game "10 men and you still got f***ed" was great.

Go on, what are your memories. Lets keep this positive:greengrin

Ive been to the millenium 3-0 game at the pink palace ,The 6-2 game at ER the Archie winner in the pissing rain again at the Pink Palace BUT my best ever bounce was GOC winner in the last minute at ER, Brebner was WRONGLY sent off and dougal came out and said so afterwards.

That mental celebration in the old East terracing when he scored will live long long in my memory bank.

Sheer radgness that day.

The one that always sticks in my head, maybe because it was the first time I remember us winning at the PBS, was a cup game (3rd round I think). Donald Ford scored. John Hazel scored with a diving header then Nijinsky went flying up the left wing and hammered one in from an impossible angle late on. Much Four Crown was consumed.

Cheer up Cheer up the wine will see you through
The VP and the Lanny and the old Cinzano too.
Cheer up Cheer up the wine will see you right
It makes yer eyes go funny and you talk a load of *****.

Happy days indeed.:greengrin

What build up?

The only build up i'm gettining is the build up of s***e in my breeks.

In all seriousness though, I hope we get torn right into them. But i'm afraid to say that I just don't see any possible way how this can happen.

99% of the squad couldn't give a toss. And if you go into a derby with an attitude like that, then you know there is going to be trouble.

mine, although ive had so many great derby memories, has to be the 05 derby at tynie, 1-0 down through an absolute howler from si brown, totally deflated as its hard to come back when you go to tynie, when amadou popped up i thought he was gonna be a hero, ball back off the post and blootered in by deano:greengrin sparking huge celebrations, was just a great day :top marks

I don't exactly have any memories that go back very far but i was there when De La Cruz scored that screamer at ER after 36 seconds then went on to score another. And my favourite game at the PBS was definitely Riordan's penalty, was right behind the goal in the bottom row.:greengrin

Really hope we can beat them, you just need to look at the derby results over the last 2 years and that will show that form doesn't come into it.

Millenium derby was to me a complete performance. We owned them from the kick off. Most enjoyable come back was 83/84?, a midweek game at their place when we were 2 down at half time. Two very late goals from Joe McBride including a great free kick.
I'm reasonably confident simply because they are no great shakes and FJK has a poor track record in derbies, both as a player and manager.

My recollection was that the song went more like

:singing: Ten men, we only need ten men.........! :singing:

Stuart Dougall apologised for his error in sending Brebner off the following Monday and the red card was cancelled! :agree:

If said it before, but Latapy vs. Petric for that third goal is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Petric would have been as well just sitting down with his thumb up his arse for all the difference he made.

Remember that night well! Vast majority of Hibs fans were off down Gorgie Road well before we scored late on. Remember going mental when Joe scored the equaliser. Since then have never left a game early despite the urge many times to do so!! Great memory though Crap Apple.

is that their N0. 3  has an excellent view of at least 5, maybe 6 of the goals.

I wonder where he is now ?

The funniest moment in the derby has to be when Craig Gordon was about to take a free kick in front of the East and someone throws a rugby ball onto the pitch almost hitting him -around the time when the Yams were considering the move to Murrayfield.

Anyone got a video of that?
