Anyone up early watching this on the BBC?

Currently NZ 12 England 0

Don't think England have been in NZ half all 1st half.

PS How much better is League to Union....... miles

Decent effort by England this morning given all their injury problems but you felt that NZ were always in control and they ran out deserved winners 24-10.

Do you know if the Australia \ PNG game is on the telly tomorrow morning?

I was at the NZ v England game...twas no bad. Better atmosphere than Union games that's for sure, including sold out All Blacks games :agree:

And I won $75 on last try scorer Benji Marshall

IMO League is just a big game of British Bulldogs. It's not bad on TV but pretty poor to see live - there's 5 or 6 gus involved in play at any one time the rest just stand about waiting on their turn to run into someone.

Lol I went and watched a super league game at the shay with my father in law when Halifax were in the super league and it was great entertainment but bb's is a good analogy for folk like me not born and bred into league. The players were like gladiators and you could hear each bone crunching collision. Not like poofy american football. I fair enjoyed it. All the guys I met hated union.

Hardly! It's not all crash, bang wallop as the ball is run fairly regularly in RL once good position is attained. I'd rather watch that than the referee blow his whistle every minute because 2 sets of players can't form a scrum properly (see yesterdays NZ \ OZ international for prime example)

I'm nae rugby expert at all but I do enjoy league as the tempo is much quicker and there is less booting the ball out or consistent breaks in play and I actually think its far better watching it live, though granted I've only been to 3 games in total :greengrin

England got some bad calls from the officials today, but they were their architects of their own downfall with a terrible error count, which the Aussies duly punished.

Looking forward to Kiwis v Australia next week

I've played both, watched both live and watched both on TV - Rugby League is a poor mans version IMO. There's not many RL players that have managed the step into Union either - I think due to the level of technical ability. And I'm talking top RL players like Andy Farrell, Henry Paul, Iestyn Harris.

Although something needs to be done about the refereeing of the scrummage in union - it's getting ridiculous.

No one else was brave enough to put their hands between the prop's legs in the scrum :bitchy:

If you take out all the fat *******s who make up the scrum then that does not leave many from Union that could make it in league :greengrin

Like I said, I'm no expert though!

The challenge games that SKY did a few years back were quite good to watch and I'm pretty sure the League won at both codes, but I again I might be talking pash.

edit - One win each (at their own code funnily enough!)

Jonathan Davies, Scott Gibbs and Scott Quinnell all done ok - although not many move Union to League, what with it being a step back and that. :greengrin

Sonny Bill Williams is doing alright :agree:

Get to see him up close and personal at Murrayfield soon, I reckon he'll play in that game :agree:

Just read about him in the SoS yesterday - hadn't heard of him prior to that, they reckon he'll get his 1st cap at Murrayfield.

Something of an enigma over here. They are hoping he gives them the 'x factor' for the World Cup I reckon.

Nobody was too sure how he'd go, but he's ended up being good for Canterbury in the domestic game.

He's just got that extra something that makes him stand out from your bog standard rugby player :agree:
