Was reading in the Metro (obviously not the best of papers) that Jean-Pascal Mignot of Auxerre became the first footballer being sent off without being on the pitch. But if my memory is correct didn't Alan Freeland send off one of our subs against Falkirk a few years back?

Think it was a Falkirk sub

Not that unique an event. Did they mean Champions League perhaps?

Na I think he sent of thomson in that game and booked a falkirk player twice without sending him off.

I was at a game in the late 90's in the Premiership - Coventry v Blackburn and sub goalie Tim Flowers was sent off without being on the pitch so he's not the first.

Wasn't it Liam Craig? It was the game where Yogi and Mowbray got a talking to at half time by the ref and the police.

Liam Craig was sent off when he was warming up, Kevin Thomson was sent off for two yellows, and we got beat 1-0.

We were completely bullied by Yogi's Falkirk, which sounds crazy now.

That was a terrible game. Broony got a red card in the tunnel immediately after it as well :agree:. Our captain and vice-captain both sent off in one afternoon.

Isn't embarrassing the word you were looking for?

I remember that game as well. Yogi's team were supposed to be into attractive football but turned up and kicked everything that moved. Yogi also had arguments with supporters behind the dugout.

No.

The rest is all correct, though.

That was supposed to be a joke. Not always obvious with my 'sense of humour'.
