Is it possible to be allergic to different kinds of dog?

My girlfriend has a dog and whenever I stay over I get really irritated eyes but I don't get the same with my own dog. They're different breeds so was wondering if it's possible.

Mine is a king Charles and hers is some stinky breed, aylestone bulldog I think it is. I've had other dogs in the past but not a bulldog.

I thought it was just cats and long-haired dogs that irritated the eyes.

Completely!!

One differentiating factor is whether the dog sheds its hair or not. Dogs that do shed are likely to be the cause of allergies to humans.!!

My dogs and hers shed hair though. Hers is just a pup so that could be a factor.
